  • How do you improve on an already incredible fighting game? By making that fighting game

  • super, that’s how. And how do you make it super? By adding a plethora of new characters,

  • game modes, and improvements. This continues Capcom’s, let’s call it tradition, of

  • releasing enhanced versions of their games and with a different adjective in the title.

  • But don’t think this isn’t worth looking into. I mean, it is super. It was going to

  • be DLC, but Capcom believed it to be too large.

  • First off, there are many new characters added to the roster. Some Street Fighter 2 favorites

  • like T. Hawk and Dee Jay are here now. And even Guy and Cody from Final Fight. Along

  • with some from Street Fighter 3s like Dudley among others. More importantly, two new faces

  • are added. One is Juri, a South Korean Taekwondo fighter and Hakan, a Turkish oil wrestler.

  • Both these characters fit right in, with Hakan being one of the most bizarre characters,

  • even for a Street Fighter game. The new characters are completely original, and not just old

  • moves thrown into a new body. And all the characters are unlocked from the beginning.

  • But the additions are not just new characters, there are some gameplay changes but nothing

  • major. Most notably is every character now has a second ultra move. Before each match,

  • you select which one who want. This adds even more strategy to an already complex fighter.

  • There have also been many small tweaks that work to create a more balanced game. And returning

  • are some of the mini games from Street Fighter 2, like the car smash. Awesome.

  • The graphics are still the same as Street Fighter 4, which means the game looks incredible.

  • The character models are detailed and the game runs smoothly, even when the action really

  • picks up. There are some new locations, with the Solar Eclipse stage really stealing the

  • show. The animals, and the eclipse will make you lose some matches because you are looking

  • at the background instead of your opponent.

  • The online has seen improvement, with better match making and more modes, making for one

  • of the best online fighters out there. I have yet to see any slowdown, but note the competition

  • online is serious.

  • The game is one of the most accessible fighters while also being one of the deepest. This

  • brings new people to the game, while reminding long time veterans why they are still fans.

  • This version is definitely worth picking up, even if you have Street Fighter IV. The new

  • characters and improved online and balancing make this one of the best fighters ever.
