  • Hi this is Tutor Nick P and this is Proverbs 114. The proverb today is it

  • takes two to make a quarrel. Okay. Let's take a look at the note here. If someone

  • says it takes two to make a quarrel, it means that a quarrel is never just one

  • person's fault or is never just ... or there's never just one person involved.

  • So there's always two. If one of the two refuses to participate. It only takes one

  • to refuse. If one of the two refuses to participate in an argument there can be

  • no argument. Nobody's going to stand there and argue with themselves. So it takes ...

  • That's what we mean, but it takes two to make an argument. Okay. So let's take a look

  • at some examples here. Example number one. Don't let yourself get trapped in a

  • quarrel on the Internet, especially on the Internet like if somebody didn't

  • like something you posted or or you wrote or your said or something like

  • that. And they make some comments, especially somebody if if they're

  • anonymous. People that are anonymous they're braver because they're not

  • facing you directly. So, so and then of course if we get into an argument you'll

  • probably have a lot of back and forth, back and forth back forth . It's probably

  • not worth it. So that's what they're saying here. So don't let yourself get

  • trapped into a quarrel on the Internet it will just anger you and waste your

  • time and energy. It is very unlikely you can convince the other person of your

  • opinion. It is best to simply not respond. Remember it takes two to make a quarrel.

  • All right. That's the way we use it. Okay let's look at number two. Number two here.

  • We have an a/b . So A says don't argue with her. Just ignore what she says. And

  • then B says" hey I tried to do that she is the one who always starts don't

  • blame me. " You know don't point the finger that I'm

  • doing something wrong. You need to blame her as well. You know it takes two to

  • make an argument. So don't don't make it look like it's more my fault. Okay.

  • Anyway it's just the way you might hear it. I hope you got it. I hope it's clear.

  • Thank you for your time. Bye-bye.
