Hi this is Tutor Nick P and this is Noun Phrase 81.  All right. The noun

phrase today is no-brainer. All right.  This one's a little bit more informal,

but we actually do hear it a lot. All right.  Let's take a look here. We have two

meanings of it. If something is a no-brainer,  it requires a little or no

mental effort. Yeah. So you can see where it comes from.  It alludes to the idea you

don't even need to use your brain. It's just the answer is so obvious. It's so

clear. Your brain could be gone. So it's it's a no-brainer. You don't have to put

any exertion or stress on your brain. The ... it's easy,  it's very easy to make a

decision or to know what to do. You hardly need to use your brain. So it's a

no-brainer. All right and the second one says if you describe something as a

no-brainer.  it is easy to answer. Yeah. So something that would be really really

obvious and very simple to answer could be a no-brainer. Okay. Good.

All right. Here's just a couple of examples. Number one here. There is no

comparison in choosing which job to take.  This one is much better. It is a no

brainer. So you know,  maybe you have many many benefits and perks in this one and

this one's not so much. So the choice is easy. It's a no-brainer.

Okay or number two. If you support these policies then voting for him is a

no-brainer. The other candidate is completely against these policies. So

it's not like you have another choice. So it's a no-brainer. It's easy to choose

which one to vote for or in this case what to do. You don't have to think too
