  • Hello everyone, my name is Wan -ting.

  • Today we are going to visit a really special restaurant,

  • which used to be a barn.

  • Sounds interesting, right?

  • And it is famous for its sesame oil cuisine.

  • Let's go and take a look!

  • This is our Secretary-general, Mrs. Chen.

  • Hello Mrs. Chen.

  • Hello Wan -ting, Hello everyone!

  • Why did you want to turn a barn into a restaurant?

  • Farmers' association has much vacant space before.

  • We don't have that many paddies.

  • So we just reuse the vacant space,

  • which used to store paddies,to be a restaurant.

  • The deserted barn has been turned into a restaurant.

  • At first, the restaurant featured the pilot project

  • for elderly employment,

  • and as time went by,

  • the restaurant has made some reforms

  • and worked together with local industries.

  • The restaurant is very special,

  • and it's also a popular check-in site.

  • Let's go check it out!

  • This is our Manager of the restaurant, Ms. Shi.

  • Hello Ms. Shi

  • Good afternoon.

  • Can you introduce a little bit about the restaurant?

  • OK! I will show you around.

  • We have many products here.

  • All of them are made from local ingredients.

  • For example, the sesame oil is made from local sesame

  • and produced by our Farmers' association.

  • I smelled the aroma of sesame seeds the moment I walked in.

  • By the way, how does the sesame grow?

  • Sesame (jhima) is also called huma in Chinese.

  • Sesame is planted two times a year.

  • As for spring cropping,

  • sesame is planted during March to April

  • and harvested during June to July.

  • After harvesting, sesame has to be dried under the sun.

  • Farmers wrap up a dozen of sesame plants into a bundle

  • and they lay the bundles on the farm to dry them up under the sun.

  • After that, farmers spread out plastic fabric on the farm,

  • and beat sesame bundles with a stick

  • so that sesame seeds fall on the plastic fabric.

  • Seeds are then collected and sent for screening.

  • Only those who pass the screening process will go through processing.

  • The first step of processing is baking,

  • where you pour sesame seeds

  • into a baking stove and stir-fry them.

  • The fried seeds have to be cooled down

  • before they are ground.

  • Next, the ground seeds will be steamed.

  • Then, we pour the steamed seeds into round plates

  • and compress them into a pie shape.

  • Finally, we're ready for oil pressing.

  • The extracted oil has to wait for a month before it can be bottled.

  • Wow! It takes four to five months to make a bottle of sesame oil!

  • It's definitely not an easy job!

  • Wanting! When you visit Sigang,

  • you have to taste the most representative cuisine-

  • Sesame oil chicken hot pot!

  • It is different from other common hot pot.

  • You can first taste it with fried flavor.

  • After adding some soup it becomes the hot pot!

  • You can enjoy two different experiences simultaneously!

  • But the material is raw, how can we cook it?

  • I can show you.

  • Just like this, stir it by yourself

  • about five minutes and the chicken is ready to be eaten.

  • You can first taste the dry part.

  • But I have a question,

  • isn't sesame oil chicken too warm to be eaten in summer?

  • Actually, during winter and summer,

  • it has different portion of sesame oil.

  • Sesame oil chicken is made with different proportion

  • of sesame oil and ginger in different seasons.

  • No wonder when we eat it in winter, we feel warm,

  • but when we eat it in summer, we don't feel too hot.

  • We tend to eat many cool things in summer, right?

  • It is beneficial to our health if we have some sesame oil occasionally.

  • See? After five minutes,

  • the fried sesame oil chicken is ready!

  • The chicken is really juicy

  • and it has special smelling of sesame oil.

  • It is fantastic!

  • It will become hot pot if we put some soup in it.

  • The soup is really warm and also really sweet.

  • I like it!

  • In addition to sesame oil chicken,

  • sesame oil shrimps

  • and chicken soup with peeled chili pepper are also worth trying.

  • You can give it a try to taste different dishes

  • as well as cook the dishes by yourself!

  • Wow! Making sesame oil chicken is not that difficult.

  • The shop owner said you'll make delicious sesame oil chicken

  • if you choose the right sesame oil.

  • But how do we select the right sesame oil?

  • The sesame oil is clear

  • and the color is amber.

  • You can also try rubbing some oil on your skin.

  • Good sesame oil will be absorbed quickly!

  • If you long to country life,

  • I strongly recommend you to visit the restaurant.

  • Try some sesame oil chicken

  • and the agricultural creative products.
