  • so in this video tutorial we're gonna see one of the ways of standing up,

  • of course there's a million ways of standing up, everybody has their own little technique.

  • we're going to be seeing a technique which i think helps the majority of people.

  • so the first thing to learn is that you need to get up taking your time

  • don't try and stress and get out really quickly and pretend that nothing happened okay?

  • because otherwise you're gonna get up in a very strange way and probably fall again, we don't want that to happen, do we?

  • The first thing is I put my skis parallel one next to the other

  • I untangle my skis and I put one ski next to the other as you can see in these images

  • then I need to put my skies perpendicular to the fall line

  • the fall line is the line that if you where to drop a ball the ball would roll down in a straight line

  • that is the fall line, so we want to put our skis perpendicular to that imaginary line

  • so what we're gonna do is we're gonna lift our bodyweight with our hands

  • and then we're gonna walk with our hands until we touch the tips of the ski

  • so we lift up the weight and we walk in a semi-circle quite far away from me

  • you can see that my legs are almost stretched out until I touch the tips

  • and then by surprise I'll be standing up
