  • - Thank you so much for clicking on this video

  • but I have to be honest with you this video is for me.

  • It's not for you.

  • I don't know what to say. (laughs)

  • (beep)

  • (bright music)

  • So, today, we are reuniting cat brothers.

  • What does that mean?

  • So, I have two cats.

  • Mars and Bones.

  • You might've seen them featured in other videos.

  • I put them on a leash before.

  • Jen has cat sit with them.

  • But their origin story is pretty special.

  • When I came to LA about seven years ago,

  • I knew I was gonna be pretty lonely.

  • I didn't really have many friends out here.

  • So, I decided to kind of go for a walk in Larchmont

  • which is this little village in the middle of LA.

  • There, I met this woman who sets up shop every Sunday

  • in front of a Bank of America and puts out kittens.

  • And I was walking and I saw these kittens

  • and I was like, I'll just have a gander.

  • That's like a warning sign that you're gonna get a cat.

  • So, I saw Mars who is my black and white rag doll cat.

  • He just like spoke to me and I was like, I want this cat.

  • Well, the woman who was running the si--

  • The cat sale?

  • What do we call this?

  • The woman who was running the cat sale,

  • she was like, nope, it's a two for one special.

  • You can't take one cat, you can only have two.

  • And I was like, can I even keep two cats?

  • And she was selling me on it.

  • She's like it's easier to have two cats

  • if you get them at the same time.

  • They play with each other, they entertain each other.

  • I'm thinking to myself, what other cat do I want?

  • And in that exact moment, Bones, my black cat,

  • jumped out and grabbed my arm.

  • And so, that's kind of their origin story

  • when they came to me.

  • Cut to about three weeks ago, walking again in Larchmont,

  • it's been seven years since I adopted them.

  • And I see this lady in her stand again.

  • And so I walk up and I'm like, oh my goodness.

  • I got my cats from you seven years ago.

  • I showed them a picture of them as adults.

  • She immediately recognized them off the bat.

  • And she was telling me how she knows

  • where Mars' brothers are.

  • He had two brothers.

  • Bones was a loner cat.

  • He kind of came from the shelter,

  • jumped in a box and saved his own life.

  • And became a part of their litter.

  • That said, he's my John Snow.

  • They don't have to be biological brothers

  • to be cat brothers.

  • So, I thought, do cats recognized each other?

  • Do they know that they have brothers out there in the world?

  • So, that's what we're finding out today.

  • By the way, I brought bow ties

  • because it's the first time they're seeing

  • their brothers in a while.

  • Okay Mars bars, we gotta get ready.

  • He's like, mom, I don't know why you ever put me in videos.

  • I don't love this.

  • You ready to meet them?

  • It's cute, you look good.

  • No, don't do that.

  • Let's go get a bow tie and your brother.

  • You know something's about to happen.

  • There you go.

  • Oh, you look so good.

  • (soft meow)

  • Yeah, you do.

  • We're gonna reunite these cat brothers.

  • I invited the two other owners

  • of the other cats to come to the house

  • and we're just gonna have a little family reunion.

  • They'll be here in 10 minutes.

  • I don't know why I'm going to the fridge, okay.

  • They're coming real soon.

  • (meow)

  • A lot of people ask me why only Mars has an Instagram.

  • And Bones doesn't have an Instagram

  • and they accuse me of not loving them equally.

  • But here's the thing, I love them so much.

  • I know that Bones wouldn't want an Instagram.

  • He's kind of a private cat

  • when I know he's just a little hunter.

  • Let me show you the cat room.

  • They've got a little cat tower,

  • they got their boxes,

  • they have old furniture that they love

  • and have torn up but I don't wanna throw it away

  • because they love it so much.

  • Oh, you guys looks so good.

  • You look like a handsome boy.

  • Also, another thing is the cats will break into their food.

  • So, I have to rubber band this.

  • Like you can see they've torn up a corner of this cabinet.

  • Look at them, they're like little sharks.

  • (meow)

  • (upbeat music)

  • - I am Mary Shaunessy and I am the found of Kitt Crusaders.

  • We officially filed our paperwork eight year ago.

  • The one biggest thing we need to help,

  • aside from money donations for vetting, are fosters.

  • Literally, gives us a place to put an animal

  • until it's adopted and saves lives.

  • - I'm Tracy Petty.

  • I am baby Patrick's mother.

  • - I'm J. Keith van Straaten.

  • Cookie.

  • Baby Patrick is crazy.

  • He's a little whiny,

  • he likes to walk around on his hind legs,

  • puts his face in my ear and goes like that,

  • he's kind of the mayor of my house.

  • - Cookie, he's a big personality

  • and he's very loving and very attentive.

  • He loves to climb onto people.

  • There are a couple of my friends.

  • He enjoys eating their hair.

  • - I do.

  • - They were all rescued from the South LA Shelter

  • on death row, they were gonna be killed

  • because they had mange which it's not a big deal.

  • So, we took them out.

  • Nearly always says mange is curable, dead is not.

  • Grab the three of them, the three brothers,

  • and then the shelter was like, oh yeah,

  • we threw another one in just in case you decided

  • you needed another cat.

  • - [Devin] An that was bones?

  • - Yes, that was bones.

  • - The only one I remember is baby Patrick because,

  • if I'm not mistaken, he was named after a cat

  • who was also a the cattery named Patrick

  • who kind of looked like him.

  • - Unfortunately, I'm not very optimistic

  • about how this is gonna go.

  • I hope that we just see a lot of shyness and hissing

  • and there are no actual fisty cuffs.

  • We're gonna watch it, we have every safety precaution

  • right there, ready to go if things get too crazy.

  • - My guess is they will act like cats

  • but I'd be happy to be surprised.

  • - They'll be terrified.

  • Mars will probably be fine.

  • Bones will be fine.

  • This is their house.

  • I don't think we're gonna see much of baby Patrick

  • and then Cookie could be the wild card here.

  • - I think what we're gonna do is we're gonna let Cookie

  • and Patrick out first and let them get acclimated

  • with the apartment here, he's never been here.

  • (cats meowing)

  • It sounds like a dialogue.

  • - [Tracy] It does, doesn't it?

  • I can't even imagine what they're talking about.

  • (cats meowing)

  • - [Tracy] They have the same meow.

  • He's smaller than baby Patrick, I didn't realize that.

  • - [Devin] He's a lean boy, yeah.

  • My boys are big.

  • - [J] Uh oh, he's hissing.

  • - [Devin] Cookie.

  • - [J] He's establishing.

  • - [Tracy] Cookie's definitely more adventurous.

  • Oh no, he has somehow squeezed himself

  • behind the refrigerator.

  • All I see is a tail.

  • Baby P!

  • And he's gone.

  • - [Devin] A little scaredy-cat.

  • (loud meow)

  • - Oh no. - You're okay-- Oh.

  • - Is he trapped? - You're okay, there you go.

  • Here you go. - [Tracy] It's okay.

  • So, right now the cats are just,

  • they're like around the apartment,

  • exploring, sniffing everything.

  • I'm just gonna introduce Mars.

  • Mars has an effect to just sit in a room and watch.

  • We'll see how this goes.

  • Who dat?

  • - [J] Oh, he's a bigger fluffer.

  • Wait, they're brothers? - Yeah.

  • - [J] They may get contract.

  • This might happen.

  • Oh, no, there's hissing.

  • - [Devin] No, don't do that.

  • This isn't like damaging for cats

  • to introduce them to like this is it?

  • See? It's okay.

  • I'm doing this for you, okay?

  • - That's your floofy majestic brother.

  • - [J] Uh oh.

  • - Just a little baby hiss.

  • - A little baby hiss.

  • - He's in your house, I know, it's weird.

  • You didn't invite him.

  • - [Devin] Mars, where are you going?

  • Don't be rude.

  • Oh, he's going into their house.

  • - [Tracy] Oh.

  • - You calm?

  • Remember how unhappy you were a minute ago?

  • (meow)

  • - [Devin] This is good though.

  • I feel like they're all in the same room

  • and they're not attacking each other.

  • What are you doing in there?

  • That's not yours.

  • (cat hissing)

  • - Aw. - Oh, mars.

  • He doesn't hiss at all.

  • You're fine.

  • (lions roar)

  • Hey.

  • - He hates you, honey.

  • (laughs)

  • - [J] Cookie's back to exploring.

  • - [Devin] Oh he's gonna look in the cat room and find Bones.

  • Hi bud, just a little hi.

  • - Aw, he's trying to hide.

  • - That's your adopted brother.

  • - [Tracy] From another mother.

  • - From another mother.

  • Cookie, oh, he's all the way underneath the couch.

  • Yours is like the little adventurer.

  • He's the middle brother I feel like.

  • - [J] Mm-hmm, that's funny.

  • - I was preparing for the best but expecting the worst.

  • (laughs)

  • But this isn't too bad, this is like in the middle.

  • - No, I think if they had to hang out

  • with each other for a while,

  • they would probably get over themselves and be fine.

  • - I think this is a very good sign.

  • All three of them are just standing, right here.

  • We're in the same room, there's no hissing.

  • Bones is another story.

  • Bones is my little hunter.

  • He's gonna have to stay in there.

  • You guys were raised together.

  • You have the same mama.

  • Mars is not taking his eyes off him though.

  • Mars is like that's my mama.

  • Look at them, they're holding eye contact.

  • What are you two talking about with your eyes?

  • This is kind of crazy?

  • Not bod for an hour, I'll take it.

  • So, that was eventful.

  • That was literally an afternoon in an hour.

  • There was drama.

  • (cat hissing)

  • There was suspense.

  • (cat meowing)

  • Oh no. - [J] Uh oh.

  • - Relief and happiness.

  • Mars and Bones met their brothers.

  • I'm very happy that this happened.

  • It was really exciting for me to meet

  • Mars and Bones' brothers.

  • And I really love that moment that they had over there

  • by my desk where they just kinda sniffed each other out.

  • Now, for my naysayers.

  • Just for y'alls piece of mind.

  • We had a couple professionals on set today

  • and not only did we have the representatives

  • from Kitt Crusaders on set

  • but we had someone else just to make sure

  • that the cats weren't super stressed out.

  • But honestly, I really didn't anticipate

  • there was gonna be any violence because I know Mars

  • and he's kind of a chill cat.

  • I did think that Bones could be violent.

  • So, I brought bones out for a minute

  • and then promptly put him back in because this happened.

  • If you're interested in getting a cat,

  • I recommend checking out Kitt Crusaders.

  • You can find their information out right here.

  • They're where I got my boys and you ca totally tell

  • that they truly truly care about the cats that they save

  • and foster because they were able to rope together

  • this family for this crazy video

  • which I think is awesome.

  • Is this a video?

  • I think this is a video.

  • (upbeat music)

  • - Hey, unsolved is on a new channel and now your part?

  • - [Both] Subscribe here.

  • - That was my part.

- Thank you so much for clicking on this video
