  • This is useful when you cannot respond straightaway

  • Such as when you're busy or asked a difficult question

  • For example, imagine a customer requests a big discount

  • You could say:

  • Let me check with my boss and I'll get back to you about that

  • Notice the patternget back to someone about something

  • This phrase works in writing as well

  • For instance, let's say your colleague messages you:

  • A: “Our supervisor is asking for an update

  • You could reply:

  • B: “No problem. I'll get back to her later today.”

  • Notice how the time is added after the phrase
