  • Hello and welcome everyone. This is Minoo at Anglo-Link.

  • Today we're going to revise and practise some common daily expressions to help you with your fluency.

  • You will have already seen some of these expressions in an earlier conversation video

  • called 'Introductions & Greetings'.

  • And I have added some new expressions for you to practise too.

  • You can use this video both for listening and speaking practice.

  • If you want to use it for listening practice, have some paper and a pen ready.

  • Start the video, and listen to the first sentence, which I will read for you twice.

  • Pause the video, and write down what you've heard.

  • Then resume the video, and the sentence will appear on your screen.

  • Compare what you've written down with what you see on the screen.

  • And notice if you have missed any of the small sounds.

  • Like contractions, weak forms or phonetic links.

  • We looked at these specific sound patterns in an earlier video

  • called 'How to improve your listen comprehension'.

  • If you haven't watched that video yet, I recommend you watch that first and then come back to this listening exercise.

  • Now, when you have written all of the sentences down and you have checked them,

  • you can then use this video for pronunciation and fluency practice.

  • Replay the video, and this time, just listen and repeat each sentence twice.

  • Make sure that this time you don't use your paper.

  • Put your paper away, and just focus on listening and repeating.

  • And pay particular attention to your pronunciation.

  • By the end of this video you will have practiced and memorised these useful daily expressions.

  • And you will be able to hear them easily and use them fluently when you speak.

  • So. When you're ready, we can begin!
