  • Now remember you wanna keep your child rear-facing as long as possible.

  • The standard is 2 years and 20 lbs but you actually want to go up to the limits of your

  • car seat.

  • So with this one it's 40 lbs or 43 inches so once you reach those you

  • then can turn forward facing.

  • Now in a car accident they are much safer if they're rear facing because their neck

  • and spine are protected.

  • So you really wanna keep them rear facing as long as possible.

  • But now that you're ready to go forward facing, lets get into installation.

  • Now since we're forward facing we don't need the infant insert, so we're gonna go ahead

  • and take those out.

  • These are for rear-facing only.

  • Ok so now you wanna determine the appropriate level for a recline for your position.

  • So there are 3 recline positions, you're gonna access that adjuster in the back and as you

  • can see, you have 1 for forward facing only, 2 for rear and forward facing depending on

  • your weight, and 3 is rear facing only.

  • So for forward facing you wanna make sure it's in position 1 or 2

Now remember you wanna keep your child rear-facing as long as possible.
