  • I don't know if Kayla is going to let me video her

  • she's really stressing out now

  • this fingers is crossed for her so

  • she can't get through this

  • [Music]

  • Hey, everyone. It is Connie from we are the davises

  • and today

  • I am picking up the kids from school early because

  • they have to go get their middle school shot today and

  • I think Tyler might be a little bummed because I think he

  • has the end of school year party going on right now

  • so hopefully he got to enjoy some of that, but I really

  • couldn't control the timing of the shots and

  • So basically I'm going in right now.

  • I'm going to pull him out and

  • We're going to go and I know Kayla is really nervous.

  • I don't know if Tyler cares

  • I just think he cared about the party and

  • I just got to get him right now, run him home

  • make sure they're cleaned up, and then we're heading

  • out to doctors.

  • So let's go get him

  • Okay. Just got him

  • Yeah, yeah

  • Kayla seems to be in good spirits.

  • I just have the end of my year party and

  • there was so much fun.

  • There was a field day

  • And there was a bottle flip challenge.

  • There was Dr. teacher and I actually dug my teacher

  • There was a game truck

  • and then there was just having fun, dance party

  • and we are going home right now because

  • Tyler is covered in dirt

  • And that's exactly why I'm picking him up early

  • because I had a feeling this party

  • was going to be like that

  • Yeah, I was rolling on the ground and field

  • well, let's get home

  • get these kids cleaned up,

  • so we can get them to the doctor

  • And then that way they get to move on to middle school

  • So just waiting for Tyler to finish taking a shower

  • and then we're going to head out

  • What do you think it's going to be like?

  • well I asked a lot of people and a lot of my friends

  • have gotten three

  • So I don't know which one they were talking about

  • but our people said that when I first get it

  • It doesn't hurt like they don't feel like go in and then

  • afterwards it's swelled like you bump into something oh

  • Yeah, I think it said it's the last shot

  • that they get

  • Yeah, it's the last one

  • She needs to enter Seventh grades

  • But a school that they're going to is in Middle school

  • which means it's sixth, seventh and eighth grade

  • So I think they're going to want Tyler to get it, too

  • So we're taking him anyways

  • And then if that is not going to happen

  • then he at least gets his

  • Physical and she gets her physical so we can

  • turn all that in for next year

  • and then we eat yogurt or chocolate or something

  • She's just throwing that on the record so

  • I cannot let them have a treat

  • Mm-hmm

  • When you want to treat, do you had a shot?

  • yes, it's scared

  • really really scared

  • I'm like I cry and scream for the shots.

  • So we see how this goes

  • last year when the shot idea came up

  • she like had a meltdown

  • and she was like had a meeeew.

  • that was a year ago

  • Yeah now and now she's a little tougher. I think

  • just a little bit

  • Just a baby then

  • I'm still gonna cry

  • she's so excited

  • Now they're getting their physicals

  • they have to be nice and healthy for Middle school

  • so if Kayla's not tall enough

  • They won't let her in the seventh grade

  • [Kayla laughs]

  • 70-pound

  • that's not big enough for seventh Grade

  • they said you're only turn enough for fifth grade

  • [Kayla laughs]

  • Sorry

  • at 85.2

  • 85 pounds

  • wow you outweigh Kayla by 15 pounds

  • and he's at 58 and half inches

  • oh that means you made it to sixth grade

  • nice

  • ha!

  • [Connie laughing]

  • now they are getting blood pressure done and

  • vision check

  • [Music]

  • Did she survive the first reading?

  • Kayla's healthy

  • it's a 20/20

  • nice

  • you can see

  • hopefully you don't have high blood pressure

  • [Music]

  • 20/20

  • yeah

  • No, no glasses this time

  • and then Tyler has 104/57 which means

  • he's going to live

  • good job guys

  • it's the hearing test..shhh

  • [Music]

  • can he hear?

  • he can hear

  • yeah

  • you passed

  • No hearing aids yet

  • so they want to test

  • What do they want to test Tyler?

  • My finger pickle

  • they're going to give you a fingerprint to find out if

  • You have high cholesterol

  • what's cholesterol?

  • I don't know how to explain cholesterol

  • it's something that if it gets too high, it's bad for you

  • It's bad for your heart

  • And they said that candy could be a contributing factor

  • to high cholesterol

  • so Tyler is going to test it out

  • Kayla's stressing out right now

  • She doesn't know if she can do it

  • Kayla does not want to be on the camera right now

  • She is trying to figure out how to get through the shot

  • and Tyler is going to be doing the first shot

  • So we're going to see how that goes and he's going to let

  • us know what he thinks

  • okay?

  • like I said the thing that hurts the most is

  • the prickle

  • it's really fast

  • But what happens is because I have to squeeze your

  • finger and get blood out to fill this tube up to right here

  • so I have to squeeze your finger

  • and that hurts worse than

  • the

  • please, does it still hurts

  • I don't think it hurt when they did my finger,

  • and they did both of my fingers

  • So I had one person on this side

  • and one person on this side

  • I totally would do that, and if it hurt me if I needed it

  • It's not that big a deal, and

  • I don't like getting blood drawn

  • me neither so because a prick thing is easy

  • which finger is it?

  • this one or this one?

  • pick one

  • the middle one

  • the Middle one

  • okay, so just alcohol

  • just come here

  • does the finger prick hurt?

  • nope

  • I wouldn't lie to you

  • so just sit really still

  • Okay?

  • one, two

  • Oh, that didn't hurt

  • see

  • this hurts, don't they?

  • makes it easy on your finger

  • that would have felt the same if

  • he hadn't been pricked though
