  • pages 34 and 35 dialogue (During the break)

  • Amy: Halloween's just around the corner.

  • I'm really excited about it!

  • John: Halloween is for children, isn't it?

  • I think that trick-or-treating is boring.

  • Amy: I'm bored with trick-or-treating, too.

  • So, this year I'm going to a costume party with Patty.

  • I'm going to dress up as a bat,

  • and Patty's going to be a cat.

  • John: What a way to celebrate Halloween!

  • Amy: Right! But... at the party, there'll be a time for telling ghost stories. I think I'll run away and hide.

  • John: Are you telling me you're scared of ghost stories?

  • Amy: Yes... I'm scared of ghosts and ghost stories.

  • John: I'm surprised to hear that, Amy. Everyone knows that you aren't afraid of anything. Besides, ghosts aren't real. You shouldn't be worried.

  • Amy: I guess you're right, but I still can't help it. By the way, would you like to come with us?

  • John: No, thanks! I'm not interested in Halloween parties; they aren't my cup of tea.
