  • I dressed all in, like,l Abercrombie and Hollister.

  • - I wasn't unpopular, but I wasn't, like, the most popular.

  • - I went to a really tiny school.

  • I went to school with 19 people.

  • - In your grade, or like in the whole school?

  • - Oh, no, in my grade.

  • - I was valedictorian, though.

  • - What were you like in high school?

  • - Um, in high school?

  • - In high school, I had like a rebound

  • to like norm core.

  • Like I worked at Hollister for a while..

  • - I wanted to fit into Hollister jeans,

  • and I just couldn't.

  • That's my Hollister story.

  • Were you guys like the type of people

  • who were like, "Oh, I can't wait to get out of high school."

  • - Yes.

  • - 'Cause that's kind of what I was like.

  • - My parents were always really strict,

  • so I was like, "Get me out."

  • But I love them.

  • - My parents were so strict, I also love my parents,

  • but my dad made a rule at one point

  • that I had to be home when the sun was down.

  • And I was like,

  • "This su--" - [Middle girl] Oh my God,

  • my mom did the same thing!

  • - I'm like, "The sun goes down at four!"

  • He's like, "Be home."

  • I was kind of a loser.

  • I was like, not a loser, I was just an overachiever.

  • Like ASB President.

  • I was like the president or the team captain of everything.

  • And I wasn't not popular.

  • I was very well-known,

  • but in this weird mascot-y sort of way.

  • It was like, "There's Ashley!"

  • - I feel like I can't take this seriously.

  • (laughter)

  • - I mean there's 19 of you in your class.

  • - In my class, yeah.

  • - Well known, that's 20 people.

  • (laughter)

  • - Try to be the most popular of 100 people.

  • It's harder than you think.

  • (laughter)

  • - Wait, what were you like in high school?

  • - I was not very cool.

  • I wore a lot of shirts with cartoon characters on them.
