Subtitles section Play video Print subtitles Hi guys so today I’ll be showing you how to do the very basic dutch braid. So a dutch braid is kind of a REVERSE of a french braid. I really love this braid because it stands out much more than the french braid and you can actually see the shape of the braid on top, compared to a french braid. The technique is the same, except that instead of bringing sections of your braid over and into the centre, you bring them under. Here you can see the 2 braids compared side by side. Now let’s get started with the tutorial. First i pick up a section of hair from the top of my head and split into 3 equal sections. Now I cross the leftmost section UNDER the middle section. Then I cross the right most section UNDER the middle section. So I'm gonna repeat this, but from now on I'm also gonna add in hair from the sides of my head. So I add in some hair to the leftmost section and then I cross it UNDER the middle one. So same thing for the other side-Add in some hair to the rightmost section and cross it UNDER the middle one. And I’ll repeat that, so I add in some hair to the left and cross it under. Now we’re gonna do the same thing on the right side, but if you want to you can also first cross under the right, and THEN cross under the NEW section of hair from the side. I prefer the first method so I just continue that until I run out of hair. Then I just continue the braid without adding in any hair to it. So left goes under the MIDDLE then right goes under the MIDDLE. When I get to the end I secure it with an elastic and that is it! I hope you guys try this out and if you do then make sure you show me on Instagram. if you found this video helpful please give it a THUMBS UP and also check out my last video!
