  • Well I'm here at the Forth Bridge. The iconic bridge says so much about Scotland, our heritage, our engineering.

  • All those that worked on this bridge, it's recognised throughout the world, so important to Scotland as a symbol of our creativity and our engineering.

  • This structure is one hundred and twenty four years old, it looks fantastic, it really is an absolute iconic structure not only to Scotland but world wide.

  • Everybody who works on this structure, who travels over this structure is delighted that this structure is going to be put forward for world heritage status.

  • Well it's really important that we can secure world heritage status for the Forth Bridge. It's recognised internationally, it tells a story of engineering that is world renowned.

  • Scotland at the moment has five world heritage sites, to have the Forth Bridge as a sixth one and to my mind it would be the jewel in the crown for that.

  • It's such an iconic structure, wonderful location and the tourism potential, visitor potential for the bridge - absolutely huge.

  • Well everyone has pulled together; Network Rail, Historic Scotland, The Scottish Government all working in partnership

  • to make sure we can secure the world heritage site status for the Forth Bridge. It would be fantastic for Scotland but also for the heritage of the world.
