  • It’s full of local people

  • All chowindown

  • On some of the most amazing looking dim sum

  • So were going to order up

  • And try it out

  • Dim sum

  • This is big

  • Dim sum is so good

  • That you will find it’s influence all over the world

  • But I had to come here to the source in Guangzhou

  • I came to eat as many as possible

  • These are 11 Classic dim sum dishes that you need to try

  • This is a dim sum feast

  • Let’s start off with number 11

  • This is lotus leaf rice

  • Filled with egg yolk

  • Dried scallop

  • Mushroom

  • Chestnut

  • And chicken

  • I’m going to try that out

  • Wow

  • You can taste the earthiness and the leafiness

  • Of that lotus

  • Steamed throughout the rice

  • There is all this egg yolk

  • And chicken

  • And that sticky rice was so gooey

  • And a little sweet

  • Coming up for number ten

  • You knew it was going to be chicken feet

  • Right here

  • These are fengzhua

  • These are chicken feet

  • That are deep fried

  • Boiled

  • And then marinated in a black bean sauce

  • And then steamed

  • There’s not much meat on it

  • It’s kind of just like eating cartilage

  • And small bones

  • With a little bit of sweet meat on the outside

  • Number nine is a standard Chinese radish cake

  • Made with shredded turnip and rice flour

  • That is always ordered by the locals

  • Yeah

  • It tastes like Chinese carrot

  • Pretty much, it’s a little sweet

  • And now for some beef balls stuffed with cilantro and water chestnut

  • And then I have beef balls here

  • Dripping beef balls

  • Amazing

  • Number 7 is a beef stew

  • Packed with radish

  • And chee cheong fen rice noodle rolls

  • That will blow your mind

  • It’s like rice noodle rolls

  • In a thick beef stew gravy

  • Wow

  • It’s exactly like a beef stew with rice noodle rolls

  • It fills you with glee

  • And now were moving up

  • Number 6 is pepper beef short ribs

  • Wow

  • It tastes like pepper steak

  • Exactly like pepper steak

  • It’s really peppery

  • Number 5 is a classic southern Chinese egg tart

  • It’s like a flaky outer crust

  • With a middle filled with an egg custard

  • Oh yeah

  • That is really delicate

  • That is fine

  • It’s a super sweet egg custard

  • I feel like I’m eating artwork or something

  • Number 4 is the plump Chaozhou dumplings

  • Usually stuffed with peanuts

  • Garlic chives

  • Ground pork

  • Dried shrimp

  • Dried radish and shiitake mushrooms

  • Wrapped with a tapioca starch wrapper

  • Oh it’s sticky, it’s sticky!

  • It tastes like a mixture between celery

  • Peanuts, and sesame

  • Wow

  • This next one is a hit

  • Char siu bao

  • Barbeque Pork Bun Baozi

  • That’s my definition of heaven right there

  • It’s like a sweet barbeque pork

  • You can almost taste a little honey in there

  • And it’s gooey

  • And full of flavour

  • With a soft baozi bun

  • That’s amazing

  • Number two is the world famous Siu mai

  • AKA overflowing shrimp and pork dumplings

  • Wrapped with a lye water dough

  • And garnished with crab roe

  • So juicy

  • Wow, look at this

  • This is Siu Mai

  • It’s like springy shrimp with a fatty pork

  • Wrapped around a dumpling

  • Full of juice

  • That is just mind blowing

  • Were finally here at number one

  • You must eat these dim sum

  • These are the har gao shrimp fatty pork dumplings

  • That are similar to the shao mai

  • Except wrapped with a silky smooth wheat and tapioca wrapper

  • That melts in your mouth

  • Well that was an amazing dim sum meal

  • Here in Guangzou
