  • And we want to give them a headstart in that and some knowledge

  • that allows them to move a bit more easily into the world of hospitality and hotel management

  • The old TAFE was seen as a bit of a last resort

  • Here, partnered with Charles Sturt University, we focus on the hotel management itself

  • the pathways and the experience itself and also the reputation that Charles Sturt University brings to us as well

  • helps us to legitimise the product

  • The Ryde Campus has always been a centre for excellence

  • it's always had fantastic teachers, the students who are here have got fantastic resources

  • We have a bar, we have a working restaurant

  • We have rooms that we can do room service in

  • so the level of professionalism is above anywhere else

  • within a hotel management degree

  • The teacher-student interaction with the classes gave us a better insight of the subject instead of just attending the lecture and hearing the lecturer talk to us

  • It's not just delivered, it's participated in.

  • So the students find that they're able to have a voice within the classroom

  • rather than just sit there and take notes

  • It's more easy for us to interact with the teachers

  • And the teachers give attention to each of us.

  • So we become quite a big family.

  • I think the learning approach here is tremendous because a lot of the teachers here have got a wealth of industry

  • experience as well as academic experience

  • Anytime, anything we need, they're here to help us

  • I've never really viewed them as lecturers, they've always been like mates.

  • It just feels as if they're a mentor more than anything

  • When you leave here, you leave with a Bachelors Degree in Hotel Management

  • so that then will help you to travel internationally if you wish

  • being able to work in hotels, at snowfields and resorts around the world would be absolutely amazing

  • and I think this course has allowed me to do that

  • If someone wants to be a good manager, if you want to be in hospitality, if you want to be with people - it's the best course to follow

  • I'm learning things that are relevant

  • I'm learning about an industry that's the biggest in the world

  • Some of the best teachers I've ever had in my life so

  • it's definitely been beneficial to my learning and I've definitely grown as a person as a result

  • The degree is a commitment and we know it's going to be hard

  • The day that you walk out of here with a degree that you've worked on and tirelessly studied for

  • You'll feel proud and you'll know you have earned it
