  • Hey, I’m Tobin with Section 8 Ski Institute. It's a beautiful spring day here at Mount

  • Washington, today I’m going to give you guys some tips on skiing the bumps.

  • So when were skiing in the bumps, there are a couple things we need to think about.

  • First of all we need to be able to bend and extend our legs in order to absorb those bumps.

  • The next thing we need to think about is being able to move our feet forwards and backwards

  • push them forward and pull them backwards and that way we can maintain balance.

  • So notice as I’m coming down the bumps I’m pushing my feet into them in anticipation

  • of hitting itwhen I do hit it. I just let my legs collapse and let the bump push

  • my feet back underneath me. It’s kind of like I’m riding a bicycle

  • backwards.

  • The only difference is I’m going to do it with both feet at the same time.

  • Check this out

  • So as I’m skiing into the bump I push my feet ahead. As I hit the bump I just let my

  • legs collapse and that bump just pushes my feet right back underneath me.

  • Then I can push my tips down the backside of the mogul and I’ll maintain balance the

  • whole way through. Try that next time youre out skiing moguls.
