  • Hey guys, it’s Ro, and….

  • Welcome to another Nerdy Nummies!

  • In honor of Metal Gear Solid V coming out, I thought we should make a treat!

  • I used to play a lot of Metal Gear Solid III, and in the game you scavenge

  • for food. You eat snakes, rats, frogs, and even Hornets Nests!

  • So I thought, let’s make a treat that looks like a delicious Hornets Nests from the game.

  • Let’s get started!

  • To make these Baked Peach Hornets Nests, the things you will need, will be:

  • Some fresh peaches, I’ve got four over here, and then I’ve got ready-made

  • pie crusts, you can either use ready-made or use a from scratch recipe,

  • whatever you’d like, a baking sheet, some raw turbinado sugar to

  • sprinkle on top, a pinch of cinnamon.

  • And then for the sauce on top youre gonna need: 1/2 a stick of butter,

  • 1 tablespoon of heavy cream, 1/4 cup of powdered sugar, and a

  • tablespoon of honey.

  • Now let’s put it all together!

  • The first thing that were gonna do is roll out our dough, and then were gonna

  • cut thin strips, about 1/4 to 1/2 an inch wide.

  • After youve cut the strips of pie dough crust, youre gonna wash your

  • peaches, and while theyre a little bit damp were gonna wrap them in the crust.

  • And what I’ve done, is I’ve flipped them upside down, and youre gonna start

  • with the bottom as the top, youre gonna take the littlest piece of pie crust,

  • and what I do, is I just wrap it around the circle on the top.

  • And then youre gonna continue to wrap circles all the way down,

  • over-lapping them just a little bit, so that theyll look like a nest.

  • Once your little peach is completely covered, were gonna make the top design,

  • so youre just gonna take some of your excess dough, and I’m just gonna

  • roll it into a ball. And place it here and shape it to look like the

  • top of a nest.

  • Now weve got our little peaches wrapped, and I’m going to coat them with

  • a little bit of sugar. So youre gonna take a little pinch of sugar,

  • doo-loo-loo-loo! And I’m just going to sprinkle them around and press them

  • into the sides. And then on top youre just going to do a very small pinch

  • of cinnamon. Very small!

  • I can’t see, am I sprinkling this on the peach?

  • Hold on, mmmm!

  • Ah! I was sprinkling behind the peach!

  • These little guys are ready, and now youre going to heat up your oven to

  • 375, and youre gonna bake these for about 35 to 40 minutes,

  • keep your eye onem, awh! Keep your eye onem!

  • And when they start to turn a little golden brown, theyre ready!

  • While our Peach Hornet Nests are baking, we are going to make our

  • butter-cream sauce! The first thing that youre going to do is, melt your butter.

  • So youre gonna take your butter, put it in the bowl, and then

  • I’m gonna heat this up in the microwave for about 10 seconds.

  • Now youre gonna pour in your heavy cream, powdered sugar, and 1 tablespoon

  • of honey. And now youre just gonna whisk it together, until it’s evenly combined.

  • Once your Peach Hornet Nests have baked, were gonna give them just a few

  • minutes to cool. You still want them to be warm, but you want to be able to pickem up,

  • and I’ve put them onto a little serving plate.

  • And now youre just gonna take a little spoon, and were gonna drizzle a little

  • bit of this honey sauce on top.

  • Ta-da! Here are the Metal Gear Solid Baked Peach Hornets Nests!

  • I hope you guys liked them, these were so much fun to make, and, theyre

  • super unique! If you like Peach Pie, I think you will love this recipe!

  • They are like individual peach pie pockets!

  • I’m so excited for the new game and I will be posting lots of pictures on

  • Facebook, Tumblr, Instagram and Twitter! And if you guys make these,

  • please take a picture and send it to me!

  • I love seeing your baking creations! I get a big kick out of it, just makes my day!

  • Alright, thanks again you guys, bye-bye!

  • Gonna cut me off a little piece! Dee-dee, dee-dee-doo-doo-doo!

  • Da-dee-da-dee-dee-dee-dee!

  • Ohhhhh! Awmh!

  • Mmmmmm!

  • Mmmm-mmmm-mmmm!

  • Snake gives this, two thumbs up and a foot!

  • As I’m making them, I’m just gonna stick them over here onto my baking sheet,

  • I lined it with a peach ofOops! Peach of? No! A piece of!

  • As I’m making these, I’m gonna steak

  • Steak? Oh man, every word I’m saying is a food!
