I only know this because I only know this because they just came out with the AirPods Max 2 news of the week.

Very quietly announced with a press release in the Apple Newsroom.

It has an H2 chip in there and new amplifiers,

It's the same well, it's new colors, I guess.

But physically on the outside, it's the same.

Yeah, all the normal AirPods Max form factor stuff still there, but

new amplifiers and H2 chip, potentially better sound, but

also one and a half times stronger active noise cancellation.

And then a couple interesting computational features like studio quality mics, allegedly.

Conversational awareness or voice isolation when you're on a phone call, stuff like that.

Apple, if you can record an album using AirPods Max as the microphone, then it will be sold.

Again, Apple is in pure marketing land with these terms.

But yes, the top of the AirPods Max is officially called the canopy.

So if you ever want to refer to that top piece, that's what that is.

David, why would you give them that idea?

It's funny because Apple does make some products that are genuinely professionally used all the time,

and they can go, "Hey, here's an album that was made and mixed on a MacBook-Pro with their speakers." And you'd be like, "That's crazy,

but I guess someone could do that." But then there's the studio quality microphones on the iMac,

and you're like, "No studio has ever used these microphones." Studio quality is a stretch.

I do think you can kind of record a you could record a podcast with the MacBook microphones,

I mean, not we wouldn't, but many people have.

There's a chance it sounds better than quite a few of them, but.

Well, they sort of updated it with a lot of the things that the AirPods Pro 3 got.

I think that's the reason that they wanted to do it, because the AirPods Pro 3 were technically better in multiple ways.

You're able to answer calls by nodding and reject them by shaking your head.

They added the game mode that reduces the wireless latency if you want to use them for gaming, so they added that.

They now have a camera remote feature on the digital crown or the crown where you can press it,

and it will take a photo with your iPhone or your iPad.

That's what I was really waiting to upgrade for.

I was just thinking, "This is for selfies generally," and then you have to be wearing AirPods Max in your selfie.

Which is exactly what Apple marketing wants.

The thing that's weird about that is I'm not mad that they added a feature.

But in order to use that, you generally would need a camera shutter remote for a group photo.

So that means you either are in the group photo holding your AirPods Max, or you have it on while the rest of the people in your group don't,

This is just a big for Apple to get more AirPods Max in photos.

I got to see if you can use this feature while they're not on your head.

That's a great question, because don't they just turn off if you don't have them on your head?

That would be so funny if you could only use them while they're on your head.

Even if you're holding them, that's weird.

Yeah, I would hold them in my hand and put them behind my back and then take a picture like this in the group with the crown behind my back and I hit the button.

David, I forgot that they go into sleep mode and you take them off your head.

That makes the recording an album with them even funnier, because you'd have to stick your head in the bass drum of the.

Like you're going to record each of them.

You have to literally put your head right next to the guitar amp, like.

When you're taking video with Vision Pro, you have to go.

Someone's got to do a taking Apple ads literally.

Like, "Oh, this is a studio quality microphone.

And just put their head up against the guitar.

There's now a personalized volume feature that automatically fine-tunes volume based on your preferences over time, which I believe means it analyzes how loud you're listening to music on a long period of time.

So it's just always going to be maxed out.
