So, let's understand what they are and how we can use them in business and also in everyday life, alright?

So, the first one is to head something, right?

What does it mean to head the team or to head the company?

I'm sure you might have heard that expression.

So, it means to lead it, to be the leader, to be the person in charge.

So, if you head the team, you are the leader of the team or of the company.

I've just given you some here, but you can certainly use these verbs in many different ways.

But, as a verb, to face something means to deal with it, to accept the situation, to take into account something.

So, to face something, for example, we can say to face the truth.

You need to face the truth of what has happened, or you need to face the reality.

You may wish to keep this company, but it's losing a lot of money, okay?

You need to face the consequences, the results, the effects of your actions, okay?

So, to face something means to deal with something, usually something not very pleasant, something difficult, alright?

So, what does it mean to back your employees?

So, when you back somebody or something, you are supporting that.

So, you could support your employees, you could support the idea or an idea, you could support the decision, you could support a policy, alright?

So, you could support a person or a thing or an organization, etc., okay?

What does that mean when you hand someone an award?

You could hand somebody anything, alright?

So, for example, when you go to the restaurant, after you've finished eating, the waiter hands you the bill,

You could hand over the money or hand over some money to someone.

You could hand over control to someone, okay?

Alright, so these are just some of the many ways in which we use these four verbs, which are all body parts.

And next, we're going to look at four more interesting body parts that function as verbs.

To shoulder means to accept the responsibility for something.

For example, to shoulder the cost of something, of an event, for example.

It could be something emotional, basically emotional, the heaviness of some situation.

To shoulder the expenses of an event or a... of a purchase.

To shoulder the responsibility to do something, okay?

So, to shoulder, again, means like to take on the responsibility for something, usually not something good, something that's difficult or unpleasant, alright?

You could express or voice your concerns.

You can voice your objections, or you could voice complaints.

I don't think that's right, but this is how you should do it," okay?

This is when you voice your objections to something.

Or complaint is when you say, "This was not good,

and this is why," so you're complaining about something.

So, you could voice your opinion, your concerns, your objections, your complaints, okay?

But, basically, to voice means to express.

Next, we have the unusual verb to stomach, right?

To stomach something means to be able to bear something difficult, to be able to stand it, to stand the difficulty of it, to bear the difficulty of something.

So, "I don't know how he could stomach that situation." Obviously, these are all going to be negative things that we're talking about.

I cannot stomach the thought of that happening to someone.

I cannot stomach the idea of somebody doing something like that.

Or, "I cannot stomach the violence in that movie," or something like that, okay?
