Comprehensible input is when a native speaker like me speaks slowly and clearly so that you can understand.

Guys, today we have a fun video and we're gonna have a showdown.

A showdown is like a fight, like a contest.

Okay, there's going to be a showdown between Argentina and Uruguay.

Now, I know you guys down there don't call those countries that.

That's the American pronunciation of Argentina.

Today we're having a contest of hot dogs, okay?

Later, we're going to talk about the history of hot dogs.

But the American hot dogs have a challenger.

Because for the four to five years that I've known, my little beautiful Colombian wife, she's been telling me, los hot dogs de Colombia.

So, Enrico, she's been telling me that the Colombian hot dogs are very good.

I don't know if I believe her, but today we're gonna find out.

So we're going to do something called a Chicago style hot dog, very American, versus Santander hot dog from Colombia.

So, guys, we are going to make two different hot dogs from different ends of the American continent.

I have so many ingredients and so many different things to do.

The Chicago style hot dog is going to be pretty easy.

The Colombian hot dog, we have to make some sauces.

First, let's get going with this sauce, which is called salsa tartara.

But my Colombian wife doesn't know how to make a Colombian sauce.

So the American guy is going to try his best.

Now, Colombians, guys, you guys know I have a lot of love for you guys.

Food processor, we're going to put cilantro, we're going to put some white onion, we're going to put some red pepper.

And one of the recipes on Tik Tok said a little piece of carrot.

So, guys, as my wife just mentioned, maybe you couldn't hear her very well on the microphone.

There's 10,000 uncles and grandmas and aunts in Colombia.

Same thing with any of these dishes I make.

And everybody's got their own version, and everybody thinks that their version is right.

There's a million different ways to make this.

This is how we're going to do it today and see if it's good.

Also, one clove of garlic and some relish.

Guys, relish is chopped up pickles, okay?

it's pickles and sugar and a bunch of ingredients that are not good for you.

I haven't eaten this in a long time, guys.

I was telling my wife earlier, I haven't eaten a hot dog in years.

I used to eat hot dogs, guys, when I had no money.

And that's actually a funny part of the history of the Chicago style dog.

It was developed in the Great Depression, which was a very hard time in the United States, where many people had no money.

So I'll tell you guys the full story of that later.

But let's see if we can make some salsa tartara then.

All right, guys, we're gonna put this in our food processor over here.

Okay, guys, I don't know if this is proper salsa tartara, but

it tastes pretty delicious and it looks pretty good.

So, guys, also on the Colombian hot dogs, they often use a pineapple sauce, which is a sweet, sweet sauce made with pineapples and some other things, but

things with a lot of citrus, a lot of acid, like pineapple or lemon.
