But after just a few weeks of running his new business, his old company, Dunder Mifflin, called him back for a meeting.

I know you can't be making very much money.

I don't know how your prices are so low, but I know it can't keep up that way.

If you expedite something, it means you're trying to speed up the process to make it happen faster.

So David's intention are to speed up the negotiation by offering more money than Michael deserves for his company.

When you give someone something that is really nice and more than you think is fair.

Michael means the offer is so low that it feels disrespectful, like an insult or offense.

A supplier is a company that provides goods to another business.

Like a restaurant must have their meat suppliers and cheese suppliers, etc.

If you say that something can't keep up, you mean that it's not sustainable.

Have you ever noticed the letter B in the word debt is completely silent, like debt?

Debt, by the way, refers to money that you owe someone that they're expecting you to pay back.

I'll see your situation and I'll raise you a situation.

This phrase is a play on poker terminology, like I'll see your bet and I'll raise you.

This means to match a bet and then increase the amount of money you're willing to risk because you're confident that you'll win.

What Michael simply means by this is, I understand your argument, but I have an even stronger one.

And so he goes on to turn the negotiation around by saying, david's company is actually in a worse position than his.

Native speakers use the expression left and right to mean that something is happening everywhere, all the time, usually without control of the situation.

So Michael is arguing that Dunder Mifflin is in trouble because you're constantly losing clients, and

then that David is in trouble because of this.

A stockholder is someone who invests in a company by owning shares or stocks.

They have a small part of the company and can make money if the company does well.

This also means they can influence some of the company's decisions, like voting on important issues during meetings.

So when Michael says, your most profitable branch, he's pointing out that the next time David meets with his stockholders, he'll be under pressure to explain why this Scranton office has been making so little money, less and less money over time.

The word profitable refers to something that makes a lot of money.

This Scranton branch is the one that profits the most, that makes most money in the entire company.

And right now, as Michael Says they are bleeding.

That is, they're losing money and customers quickly, so they may be looking for a little change in the cfo.

So I don't think I need to wait out Dunder Mifflin.

The cfo, chief financial officer is the person responsible for managing a company's money.

Because of the whole problem with the Scranton branch, Michael means his stockholders might be thinking about changing the person who is the cfo.

The phrasal verb to wait out refers to staying in a situation until something happens or ends.

It's like saying, I'll just wait until the problem is over.

For example, the rain was so heavy, we had to wait out the storm in the office.

So Michael is saying he doesn't have to threaten to beat Dunder Mifflin.

He just needs to threaten to beat David to have him be replaced.
