If you're holding Bitcoin, you're probably not happy because the price of Bitcoin has crushed.

It has lost more than 50% of its value since its peak.

So a lot of people are wondering, should I keep holding my Bitcoins or it's time to sell?

Because it seems like the price is crushing and crushing.

And if the price of Bitcoin goes, For example, below $50,000, it is far better for me to sell my Bitcoins.

Now, to understand what is going to happen to the price of Bitcoin, you have to understand why Bitcoin exists in the first place and how Bitcoin is reshaping the global financial system.

But to understand that, you have to understand how the system works in the first place.

And there are four major phases that a system goes through.

So if you look at the financial system currently, it was primarily created back in 1944.

So when it was clear that the United States will emerge as the world's largest economy after World War II and the United States will have 90% of all the gold in the world, the world decided to use the dollar as the global reserve currency.

Now, the first question is that why would the world trust the United States to have the global reserve currency?

Because it comes with a lot of privileges.

It allows the country to control the global financial system.

The answer is that because they trusted the gold.

It wasn't because they trusted the United States, but

rather they pegged all currencies to the US Dollar and the US Dollar was pegged to the gold.

And that's what we call a global standard.

The trust wasn't in the United States, but

rather that the United States will continue pegging the dollar to the gold.

And countries have tested this system multiple times.

For example, France actually converted hundreds of billions of dollars worth of US Dollars to gold.

But at certain points, the United States realized that it actually printed way more money than amount of gold that it has.

And in 1971, the Bretton woods system completely collapsed when Nixon told the world that there is no more gold standard and the United States will no longer convert every single dollar to gold.

And that was phase one of the US Dollar to be the global reserve currency.

So what is the difference between these two phases?

In phase one, it was because the world trusted the gold.

In phase two, because the world was already dependent on the United States.

But it was not easy because this period was filled with instability and inflation.

The inflation of 1970s was one of the highest inflation in the history of the United States.

And the Federal Reserve had to increase interest rates to as high as 20%.

So it was tested and the world did not have any other choice but to use the US Dollar.

Now another thing the United States did to keep the dollar as the global reserve currency is that it created the petrodollar in 1974.

If you wanted to grow your economy in the 20th century, you needed factories, you needed planes, you needed cars.

And all of them are impossible to function without enough oil.

And Middle Eastern countries such as Saudi Arabia and the neighboring countries had most of the oil in the world.

So the United States signed an agreement with these nations that listen guys, we are going to protect you.

We are basically going to give you anything you want.

You are not going to sell your oil in any other currency other than the US Dollar.

And that was important to keep the dollar as the global reserve currency because you had so many other nations on the other parts of the world, such as Japan and China that don't have any oil whatsoever.

Remember, Japan was actually building manufacturing products and was beating the United States.

Now how is Toyota and Honda and Mitsubishi and Sony are going to manufacture their electronics and cars if you don't have the oil?

So Japan was forced to buy a lot of oil from Middle east and pay Saudi Arabia in US dollars.

Now the same thing applies to China and the rest of the world.

So the United States basically created an environment that forced the rest of the world to use dollars because oil was so important back in the 20th century.

But in 1991, phase two basically is over.

Basically because the Soviet Union collapses and now the world find itself in a situation where there is only one superpower in the world and that is the United States of America.

Nobody can compete with the United States.

Nobody can say anything to the United States.

Because first of all, the United States is the largest economy in the world.

Secondly, the United States has the most powerful military in the world.

And if you don't listen to the United States, then the United States is going to weaponize the financial system and kick you out.

And you will be officially a poor country.

So everybody just uses the dollars anyways.

There are countries that rejected that system.

And that's why Iran since 1980s is under the sanctions of the United States.

And that's why even though that Iran could be one of the Wealthiest countries in the world.

It is one of the poorest countries in the world because the United States has weaponized the financial system against Iran.

The same could be said about Cuba, the same could be said about Venezuela, and

But this system didn't actually last for a very long time.

When you are the world's largest and the most powerful country with most amount of money, then you start to abuse the system.

So in early 2000s, the United States basically created the world's largest bubble in the history of humanity.

The entire housing market and the entire banking sector and the insurance business was effectively one giant bubble that it was about to pop.

Now what happens when you crush the system?

First of all, because the entire global economy was interconnected with the U.S. economy.

And, and remember, the system works like this.

This is the dollar, and every other currency is back to the US Dollar.

Now, the United States needed to take responsibility for this crisis.

And that means that you work harder and you stall the crisis.

But the United States takes a very strategic decision and that is that we are not going to bear the cost of this crisis.

All we are going to do is that we will print money and devalue the dollar.

Because all other currencies across the globe are connected to the US Dollar.

We're essentially devaluing all other currencies across the globe.

So everybody in the world gets slightly poorer just because the United States does not want to bear the consequences of the 2008 financial crisis.

that moment, the world realizes that this is the end of phase three and the trust in the United States is over.

Because this decision effectively means that the the United States will be abusing the system as much as it wants.

Every single crisis from now onwards means that the United States can print as many dollars as it wants.

Like phase four is literally the final phase because it's a death by a thousand cuts.

That's because every single time we're printing dollars, we're devaluing the dollar.

And mathematically the dollar is going to become absolutely worthless in the long run.

So between 2008 and 2014, the Federal Reserve keeps devaluing the dollar and printing massive amounts of dollars.

It kind of lifts the US economy out of the 2008 financial crisis.

The 2008 financial crisis was way worse than the depression of 1929.
