They're scared, or they lack opportunities.

And because of that, they will project their reality onto you.

Because they can't see a way for themselves, they won't see a way for you.

they may tell you that your faith is misplaced.

We seek out relationships that feel predictable, because predictability gives us a sense of stability.

When you begin to change, you disrupt that predictability.

When people can no longer forecast who you're becoming,

they may instinctively try to pull you back to who you've always been.

So, the moment you start dreaming out loud,

someone may give you a list of reasons why it won't work—for them.

Because your ambition threatens the equilibrium they have come to rely on.

This is one of the hardest lessons you may ever have to learn.

Sometimes you have to move against the influence and well-meaning intentions of people who love your present more than your future.

that version may require a different environment, a different circle,
