Now, Iranian officials are dismissing reports or suggestions that Iran would be prepared to hand over its oil fields or mines to the US as part of any negotiations or deal.

The officials speaking to Al Jazeera said it's a mistake to assume talks with Washington will be 100% successful.

They also say Iran is ready for any confrontation and Iran's readiness eliminates chances of what they called enemy deception.

Officials also said removing Iran's highly enriched uranium stockpile was not discussed with Washington.

Iran and the US Resumed nuclear negotiations earlier this month in Muscat, followed by another round of talks in Geneva on Tuesday under Omani mediation.

Well, earlier, Iran's president said Tehran will not give in to pressure from the US over nuclear talks.

Well, the discussions revolving the possibility of a cooperation between Iran and the United States on mines and oil and gas fields have been around over the past one or two weeks, specifically following this statement from the deputy deputy foreign minister of the country, Hamid Gambari, who came out to say that shared interests in the field of oil and gas as well as purchase of airplane are among the topics discussed within the trajectory of diplomatic engagement between Washington and Tehran.

Also, the Petroleum Ministry, excuse me, the petroleum Ministry of the country had a similar statement regarding such a possibility, saying that he does not deny potential cooperation.

But whether or not such a potential potentiality could be operationalized remains to be seen.

Meanwhile, we've got Iranian sources telling Al Jazeera today that it's just a matter of cooperation rather than handing over mines or other infrastructures of the country to the Americans.

But all in all, we have to keep in mind that there are several key considerations.

First of all, it's early to talk about any actually outcome when we are talking about these trajectory of diplomatic engagement.

It's too early to jump into any definitive assessment in that regard.

Also, we have to keep in mind that Iran's past experience when it comes to actually negotiations with the United States is in a sense negative so they're trying to create a sort of economic interdependency to make sure that in case of a request for sanctions to be removed, that would be a measurable and verifiable procedure from the Iranian side.

And last but not the least, we have to keep in mind that we are dealing with a long list of controversies, and

Whether they are going to be able to settle down all these controversies within the diplomatic framework remains to be seen, while the military options seem to be still on the table.

So have the talks between the U.S. and Iran gone into details of U.S.

investments or U.S. access to some of Iran's mineral or energy wealth?

You know, the proposal that the Iranian side is preparing, it's going to be ready in a couple of days, maybe in 24 hours.

And the idea that the Iranian side had at least some people in the executive branch of Iran, the government, was to do something different from what these negotiations were all about.

This time they will use economic incentives.

They know the United States is interested in Iranian oil.

This is why they had a coup in 1953, because the Mossadda government at that time had nationalized Iranian oil.

They are still interested in Iranian oil.

We have American oil executives talking about returning to Iran, and

they are not in Iran because of American sanctions.

The limitation is not on the Iranian side.

It's the US Congress that doesn't allow them to do that.

So, yes, economic incentives are part of the Iranian strategy to see whether they can get a deal out of Trump.

Given the fact that the Trump administration is interested in these type of exchanges, at least in other countries.

One wonders whether incentives are working.

US Envoy Steve Witkoff has been saying that the US President has been questioning why Iran hasn't capitulated.

Does that indicate that maybe the US Might feel it needs to make a more, let's call it a demonstration of force by launching some kind of limited attack on Iran?

You know, Mr. Metkov is not apparently familiar with the Iranian psyche.

There is this culture of resistance here.

They have been resisting the United states since the 1953 coup, especially after the revolution in 1979.

He really doesn't know know much about Iran, it seems.

And by attacking Iran, making the same policy that they had in June, I think they are going to see a different Iran.

Iranian officials have decided to respond in a much more forceful manner.

I think the numbers that we are hearing is at least 500American soldiers.

This is what Iranian military officials have been instructed to get if the country is attacked.

Again, the idea is to make sure that attacking Iran is not cost free.

How does that fit in with the letter that Iran sent to the United Nations Security Council on Friday saying any retaliation by Iran would be that Iran would respond proportionately to any US Attack?

Does that not indicate that if there is only an initial limited, what the US Is calling limited attack on Iran, that that might prompt also a more limited and measured Iranian response?

You know, last time Iran lost over 1200 civilians, lost a good number of military leaders and nuclear scientists.

This is the reporting at least from Washington.

So if you want to be proportionate, you need to remember what happened last time.

And this time they are going to get at least the same number as the number of people they lost.

And this is going to be proportionate so you can respond in a much more forceful way and be proportionate at the same time.
