He's still there at cnn, for those of you that care.

I don't know if you knew this or not, because I realized nobody actually watches this show.

But he was moonlighting at a place called 60 Minutes.

And had been doing that for a couple of decades about.

And now he's leaving, and he says it's because of family reasons.

Okay, I have a few thoughts on that, too.

Quite some time, and you know what's been going on.

The inmates are running this asylum, shall we say, over there at 60 minutes.

I need for you guys to go and get another source on this story.

I'd like to actually hear from the side of someone who you're bashing.

Like, why not go out and get Tom Homan, since you're going to bash the DHS so much?

Is there someone in the administration that you could talk to and.

Oh, no, heaven forbid you ask the reporters to do any of that.

And I guess Anderson's saying, I don't want to be managed either.

Barry Weiss is making $150 million to manage me, so he's like, I'm out of here, too.

So that's the latest and greatest out of 60 minutes.

I don't buy this, that it's for family reasons.

They always try and say that that's sort of how it goes.

Here we have him saying, I'll give you his.

This is what happens when I'm on the road.

I'm really, really, really close to the camera.

Anyway, when that's what happens, you know what?

I'm still here with you, and that's all that matters.

In his statement to People, because, you know, he had to do this.

In People magazine, Cooper tried to make clear that the decision was deeply personal, not driven by personal or professional dissatisfaction, but

I got to tell amazing stories and work with some of the best producers, editors, and

But after years of balancing two of the most demanding jobs in television news, busy, busy guy he is.

Cooper acknowledged that the priorities he had had changed.

Quote, for nearly 20 years, I've been able to balance my jobs at CNN and cbs.

I want to spend as much time with them as possible while they still still want to spend time with me.

Because I've been there and I've been on the receiving end, you know, and

the network's like, okay, this isn't really working out.

And, you know, I had the audacity, imagine that, to say, really, we shouldn't be shutting down just because Democrats want us to shut it down.

We shouldn't be shutting down just because this is CNN's plain story.

We ought to be, like, being a little bit more thoughtful about all of this.

Why are we having this grand old overreaction?

And so when we decided to part ways, I remember Fox calling me up and saying, okay, this statement is going to come out, and

we would like you to say something about how you really want to spend time with your kids.

I'm like, well, that would kind of be lying, right?

I mean, you guys are giving me no choice here.

And granted, I was under contract, so they still had to pay me.

But I'm like, I don't really want to say, gee, I'm leaving on my own accord to go spend time with my kids because, you know, I wear my heart on my sleeve.

I am completely true to you guys, always.

And I certainly wasn't going to lie to, you know, they thought it would make me look better.

I'm like, I think this just makes you look better because you're the idiots that are doing this, right?

I mean, hey, you want to pay me for another year and a half to get my podcast up and running, fine.

when you see executives or other talent, shall we say, saying, I really want to spend more time with my family, it's usually because, one, they can't pay you enough, two, they want you out the door, or three, they can't pay you enough.

So in his case, I'm sure he's like you can't pay me enough.

It's really not worth my time to be doing these 60 minute stories, especially when I'm going to have to answer to a new boss.

And he didn't really feel like doing it, which actually is going to be one of Barry's problems.

I mean, she's going to have a hard time there because no one seems to like her very much.

And she's a perfectly nice person trying to do perfectly nice things.

But the point is, is that that is a newsroom that is very, very staid.

He's going back to his full time CNN job.

Whatever time in the evening that he happens to be on.

I don't really watch it anymore, I gotta tell you, it's too painful.
