I spent most of my 20s chasing one thing, becoming a doctor.

And at the age of 33, after finally, you know, making it and getting this six figure salary and this prestigious job title, I quit all of it.

I walked away from medicine to become an entrepreneur.

And honestly, I felt like I had wasted an entire decade of my life.

But if I could go back and talk to my 25 year old self, I tell them this, that you're optimizing for the wrong thing.

So today I'm breaking down exactly what I wish I had understood in my 20s and early 30s.

How to invest in yourself so that you can adapt to any market condition and actually build wealth.

So think about your whole career, like investing.

Like Most people put 100% of their assets in one single stock, which is their job title.

But if that company tanks, then you're done.

But what if instead you built yourself a diversified portfolio?

Multiple revenue streams, skills that transfer across industries, and leverage that compounds even when you stop working.

If you watch me enough, you'll know that I love alliterations, but

you want to work on your mind, money and muscle.

So let's actually start with muscle, right?

A lot of people ask like, what the hell does that mean?

It's actually the most underrated investment.

And yes, I'm actually talking about muscles in your body, right?

Muscle directly determines how you build and sustain wealth.

When I was working as a hospital doctor, especially during the pandemic, I was on the front lines.

I was seeing patients at their absolute worst.

For many people, when they wake up in the morning, they literally can't do anything.

They open their eyes and they're just stuck in bed because they literally can't get out of bed.

And as a doctor, I met so many of these people and many of them had been very successful during their entire lives.

They'd built massive careers, they'd made so much money.

I mean, the hospitals I worked at, I was meeting celebrities and celebrities parents.

And the one thing I saw in common was that a lot of them completely neglected their health.

And so now they were spending their final 20 to 30 years of their life just suffering.

And so around this time, this is when I discovered the work of Dr. Peter Attia.

He's also another doctor who left traditional medicine to focus on longevity and quality of life.

And in his book Outlive, which I highly recommend, it just really changed the way I think about health as a long term investment.

You know, when I exercise today, I don't care about the performance.

I care about the preservation and longevity of my body for whatever number of years I have left.

It's correlated with things like metabolic health, cognitive function, and, and

your ability to stay independent as you age.

And studies have shown that people with higher muscle mass in their midlife have up to 50% lower mortality risk later on in life.

But the problem is that after about age 30, you lose 3 to 5% of all your muscle mass per decade if you don't actively use it or maintain it.

It's called sarcopenia, and it's one of the main reasons people lose mobility and independence.

And yes, if you start right now in your 20s, in your 30s, you build up a good reserve of muscle.

All I'm saying is lift weights maybe two to three times per week and build a foundation now, because with all these medical advances that we're going through, we're probably going to extend all of human longevity into our 90s, who knows, maybe past 100 for a lot of people.

And you want to ask yourself, are you going to be able to enjoy those extra decades of your life, or are you going to be dependent on other people for basic needs?

Now, let's talk about the second M, which is money, right?

When you talk about investing, that's what most people talk about.

But here's the thing that they don't teach you in school is that being rich and being wealthy, they're two completely different games.

And if you're in your 20s and 30s right now and you're kind of grinding for that high salary, then you might be playing the wrong game entirely.

So when I was working full time as a doctor, I was making $350,000 per year, right?

It was a great salary on paper, but I was overworked.

My shifts were 12 hours, sometimes 15 hours long.

I was so busy that I barely had time to spend the money.

And the thing that just kept bothering me was that the moment I stopped working, the money would stop coming in, which meant that I had zero leverage.

So I was rich in income, but poor in assets, and income without assets.

That's basically just a high paying job that you can't escape.

When Mattie and I transitioned to entrepreneurship, we were starting to work for ourselves.

we were also building wealth that worked for us even when we weren't working.

So our YouTube videos, they just kept bringing in more views, more sales, more clients, our Digital products kept generating revenue.

I mean, we had some digital products that we stopped marketing for many, many months and, and

And so there are a lot of ways that you can build these kind of assets that work for you.

One of my favorite frameworks comes from Naval Ravikant, and he breaks down these assets into four categories.

Capital is the old school kind of leverage.

This is hiring people to multiply your efforts.

It can get pretty expensive and hard to scale, but it is a form of leverage.

But it's these last two forms of leverage that get really interesting because it's been democratized.

Build something once and it just works forever.

And this is why tech founders can become billionaires.

You had to learn how to code to actually access this leverage.

But now with AI, everyone's a vibe coder.

If you spend a few hours to learn, you can probably vibe code some software that once took dozens of people to build.

But the fourth piece of leverage here is content.

It's something that used to be reserved for the elites or like the ultra wealthy, right?

Like back then, people owned like newspaper printing presses.

You had to be like a big celebrity to get even access the media.

Nowadays, anyone can create content and anyone can create attention.

And it's the attention that's actually the new form of cash.

And content is the leverage that I use to escape my 9 to 5 job.

You create once and you can distribute it infinitely.

My videos that I made three years ago are still bringing in me business today with no extra cost.

So thinking about leverage in this way was such a wake up call for me.

Because rich means that you have cash flow, but

wealthy means that you have assets that generate cash flow.

And when you have things like code, content, collaboration, capital, all those things working together, you could lose everything tomorrow and still rebuild all your wealth back in a matter of months.
