Glacier national park in Montana is known for its dramatic mountain scenery, pristine lakes and incredible wildlife.

The park requires advanced reservations to enter during peak season, and

popular tours book up months ahead, so planning is essential.

We spent two days exploring Glacier, and the weather threw us every possible challenge.

Thick fog, rain, and clouds so dense we could barely see the road.

But those conditions created some of the most memorable moments of our trip.

We took the iconic Red Bus tour going up, going to the Sun Road, enjoyed rowboating on Swift Current Lake, and

got completely lost hiking to Grinnell Lake.

The dramatic scenery and abundant wildlife made Glacier unforgettable, rain or shine.

Here's our complete Glacier national park experience from late August.

Do you have the reservation for the road by chance?

That does not get you over the road over here, only on the St.

Mary's side, because that's starting on the same area side.

So it doesn't act as your entry ticket for this gate.

Only the ones that pick up from the Lake McDonald Lodge up here do.

They don't communicate it well either, so it's not completely your fault.

But complain to them and say that you had a scare, since they don't listen to me, but

I was supposed to do what go to another side to do.

If you actually had enough time to still make your tour, I would have sent you around on Highway 2 and taking the highway to your tour instead.

But I don't want you to be late because I know they're expensive.

Okay, so complain to them and say that almost turned you up.

So for Glacier national park, you're supposed to have reservations to come in, unless you come in before the park opens or if it's after 3pm or you can have.

You can book a tour and get into the park too.

But nowhere on the site did it say, like, you have to go through a specific entrance to do a tour.

So the guy, he was really nice and let me through, but

I was supposed to go to another gate to go on this tour, but

I guess since the site doesn't explain it very well either, he was like, well, I'm just going to let you through now, but

just complain to them that they're not explaining it real.

Because we would have been late because I think we would have had to like go all the way around to the other side and it would probably taken us like three hours or something, whereas from here it's still going to take an hour and a half.

So yesterday we just did a, you know, all day driving.

It was raining pretty much the whole time.

But then when we got into West Coram, I think the city is West Glacier area, it actually did clear up and it was in the like high 80s, so it's pretty warm.

And then we went to Paul Bunyan, this little bar and grill.

Actually, it was a pretty big bar and grill, had some decent food and drinks.

And then we checked into our cabin, which is Sky Eco Lodge.

We're thinking about what to eat this morning and they don't really have many things open, like restaurants open before 7am so we thought we would just get groceries.

So they have like this grocery store only like five minutes down the road from us.

And their prices were actually really decent and fair for being in the middle of nowhere.

And so we got some bacon, eggs and waffles for our breakfast this morning and then we can have that for tomorrow and the day after two.

So then we could be like full before we go and venture out each day.

So, yeah, today we're doing the red bus tour and that starts at 10:15am and we're meeting at the pickup is Rising Motor Inn or Rising Sun Motor Inn, something like that.

I wanted to get a tour that started on the east or on the west side, but

So, yeah, again you have to book things early when you're planning for Glacier because things just like book up super fast.

Like all those tours starting on the west side were all gone.

So I can only get the east side one, which is an hour and a half from west.

But yeah, luckily we got through and the nice man like again let us through to drive from that entrance.

But I guess you're not supposed to come through that entrance.

If you're gonna do the east tour, you're supposed to go through another entrance, which is crazy.

So this morning we did wake up really early and then we left around 6:15am check out Apgar Village area because that's the place where you can get A nice picture of the colorful rocks and the clear water with like the mountains in the background.

But it is really cloudy today and it's actually raining right now.

It's sprinkling, it's not hardcore raining, which is great.

You can't get like the real clear picture that you usually see online because usually you know, the water is super blue and the rocks are more colorful and vibrant.

But since it's so cloudy everything's kind of like dull gray.

Around that area there's lots of gift shops and cafes and they open at 6am so super early.

If you wanted like some coffee or want to do some early gift shopping like we did, they open at six so you can do that.

They actually have really cute, clever gifts in there.

And I was gonna get some stuff but I was like, oh no, I'll wait, I'll just think about it first and then maybe if I want it I can come back and get it later because it's only like a 10 minute Dr.

From our cabin so we can just easily come over here and come back.

But Tyrone got a postcard for his friend that he's going to send because there's a post office near here on the other side.

Like they had like these UNO wilderness cards.

I love uno so and I like getting different versions of Uno because I have like hello Kitty UNO card.

So I was thinking about getting the wilderness one.

But then they also have really cool stickers.
