A lopsided approval rating for the president, with 39% approving, but

61% disapproving, excuse me, 60% disapproving of the job that he is doing.

And there is a change in how people view one of his signature issues.

Immigration approval for how the Trump administration is handling border and immigration issues is falling, according to a new poll.

And it's gone from an issue that was a relatively bright spot to the president for something that is very much in line with Americans overall feelings about his job performance as well as performance on the economy.

Mark Trussler is a senior election analyst on the NBC News Decision Desk, which released the poll powered by SurveyMonkey.

The single biggest finding was the degree to which Trump's approval on immigration has slid since we last asked that question in August.

The poll shows 27% strongly approving of the administration's handling of border security and immigration.

That's a double digit jump from 38% strongly disapproving last summer, 34% last April.

President Trump's plans to address immigration and the border were a big part of his successful 2024 campaign for the White House.

Trussler says the shift in how people feel about his handling of the issue is the biggest change the poll has seen this term.

On other issues that we've, that we've asked, there is some small movement here and there.

There's some, you know, lose a couple points here, lose a couple points here, a little bit of different opinions here and there, but

there's nothing as big as a really amongst people's views of the president's handling of immigration.

This is much larger than anything we've seen up to this point during Trump's second term.

The change, he says, is particularly notable among independents who can be critical in elections.

The poll was taken after federal immigration agents shot and killed Renee Good and Alex Preddy in Minnesota.

62% of respondents said they don't trust federal investigations into the shooting deaths will be fair and transparent.

U.S. immigration and Customs Enforcement, or ICE, has a 34% approval in this poll, with 66% disapproving.

When it comes to local cooperation with federal immigration agents, the largest share of respondents said they do think local police should cooperate in some cases to deport people in the country illegally.

A little more than a third said they should always cooperate.

I reached out to the White House about the poll results and a spokesperson sent me a statement saying that the entire Trump administration is working to fulfill President Trump's promise for the largest mass deportation in history.

The statement also criticized the media and said, quote, ice officers conduct themselves with the utmost professionalism and integrity to protect American citizens from criminal illegal aliens, end quote.

Philadelphia is looking to fast track major development projects in an effort to create jobs hubs and drive investment into the city.

Mayor Cheryl Parker created the prime program with an executive order today during a luncheon at the Pennsylvania Convention Center.

A new team will be responsible for tracking and guiding projects through government departments, including permitting and licensing.

City officials say the program allows Philly to remain competitive with other cities for new investments.

Drivers in center City have to find another way around the Martin Luther King drive.

Sky Force 10 was over the road this morning.

The stretch, Sweet Briar Drive and the Philadelphia Museum of Art at Aikens Oval is closed until further notice.

The water department says it has to do emergency infrastructure maintenance.

And then down here in South Jersey, Delsey Drive, southbound, all lanes are closed here because of some repair work that is going on there between Broadway and Omanessen Road.

And as we look at the drive times right now in Pennsylvania, the slowest spot right now appears to be eastbound on Schuylkill Expressway between 476 and the final 40 minute trip.

Average speed only about 19 miles per hour.

Reactions are pouring in over the Trump administration's efforts to to indict a group of Democrats and former veterans who posted a video yesterday.
