Cause we're trying to be modern, progressive parents and meet my daughter's needs.

But there's a generational gap that I can't always empathize with what she's going through.

So we had this really cute conversation where she was like, daddy, did you ever do therapy when you were a kid?

And if I did, I was told to swallow my spit.

So, no, honey, we weren't doing things like communicating emotional vulnerabilities.

We were doing things like hiding injuries so we didn't get in trouble.

I remember one Tommy and my friend Tommy were playing in the ravine.

You were never allowed in ravines when I was a kid, all right?

Kids got kidnapped in ravines, like, every single day.

And Tommy fell down and got a cut that was clearly from there.

I was like, stitch you up, Tommy, I'm wearing Velcro.

Every gener, my dad always wanted me to be this, like, super tough guy.

Uh, uh, in spring with this cross breeze.

I hate when people act like they grew up poor.

The dad is there the three Kids constantly trying to navigate these hard decisions.

All the time I'm trying to figure out what age.

You gotta stop letting your kids see you naked.

Cause I think I need to have a talk with my dad.

My kids are getting older, and that's creating new challenges.

he is very cool, which I did not see coming just based on the ingredients we gave him.

He has great hair, he skateboards, and he plays football.

Sometimes I look at him like, mom might have cheated.

I'm just honored to be a part of your journey, buddy.

Hardest thing about your kids getting older is they stay up late.

And if you're trying to keep that spark alive in your relationship in the bedroom, that happens late at night.

I had a very honest, very frank conversation with my son recently where he was like, dad, can I stay up late tonight?

I was like, I mean, you could stay up late, but I wouldn't recommend it.

If you want to hold on to that little bit of childhood that you have left, I recommend you retreat to your quarters because the fan can only get so loud.

I just don't fully relate to my kids worlds.

Like, when someone first explained to me the concept of cyberbullying, as somebody who was bullied in the real world, I was like, aw, that's adorable.

All those nasty words people are saying on the Internet.
