These are the first five wrestling moves you must learn if you want to win.

Well, in almost any leg attack, in order to score the takedown, you have to collect both legs.

You just need to give a little power, use your head, knock the guy over.

But this is the simplest, most effective takedown.

I'm going to take my lead leg and take a big step, trying to step in between his two feet.

My two hands are going to reach as I step and grab behind his legs.

As my knee drives to the mat, my back leg is going to swing up and around my opponent.

I'm getting to the side of him from here.

I'm just going to run up to my feet and knock him over to his hip.

Even if he sprawls, the technique is still very simple.

So say I shoot in, big step, pull myself in.

All I have to do is swing my leg up, drive, and

this time I really don't have to go up to my feet.

I can just use my head to knock him over to his hip.

Not only is it the simplest leg attack, it is also effective at every single level in wrestling.

So it's not a move where, if you learn it, you spend a lot, a lot of time doing it.

You're going to have to forget about it later on.

It's a move that you can continue to develop all the way into a state title, Olympic Title.

The second move I recommend, learning is a sprawl.

Now, you can have a beginner sprawl, you can have an advanced sprawl, but

here's the best way to understand what a sprawl is.

As my opponent goes to attack my legs, I'm going to drop back to my knees and try to get my chest to land on his back.

So as he shoots, I'm going to drop back to my knees and try to get my chest to land on his back.

From here, I'm looking to get distance, I'm looking to get away from him.

You know, I have a whole video on sprawls for like 45 minutes long or something.

But drop to your knees, throw your knees back, chest on his back, get your weight on him and start pushing on his legs and sliding back.

Once he let go your legs, you can hustle around.

Another great pointer is stuff in the head.

Another great way to stop this guy from taking you down.

Jam on his head, get it underneath you, slide off and then spin behind.

You know, a lot of beginner wrestlers, when your opponent goes to shoot in, they'll, they'll throw their legs back, but

No chest on the back, get your weight on them.

Get used to putting your weight on them, sliding your hips off and scoring again.

I know some of the comments might be like, that's not a perfect sprawl.

You got to, you know, be laces flat or whatever.

Here's a move that I recommend people learning when they're starting out because you can win a lot of matches with this.

It's very simple and especially in youth wrestling, it crushes the cement mixer or dj.

Right here we sprawled on top of the person.

I'm just going to look to pin my opponent here.

I'm going to grab his chin with one hand.

I'm going to scoop under his arm with the other hand.

I step the same leg up that has the underhook.

I look to drive him over top of his head, post my hand, spread my legs wide, pull up on his chin and get the pin.

I have some wrestlers who just, especially youth wrestlers, 8, 9, 10, 11 year olds, snap the guy down, pin him.

If you're strong, it's very hard to stop this technique.

Show it on this side, grabbing the chin here, not around the armpit just like this.

I'm going underneath the arm, jacking it up.

There's different people show different details with this move.

Some people show grabbing the waist, some people show punching up and across.

Keep your legs wide so they don't bridge and get the fall.

But I'm going to say you should learn a cradle.

And I'll pair the far side of the near side one together.

Because almost all the other turns on top.

You need to know different breakdowns if you even want to do a half nelson.
