The eurozone economy grew quicker than expected last quarter.

That's what official data showed on Friday.

It rose as consumption and investments sped up.

That momentum offset low exports and the uncertainty caused by US Trade policy.

The figures showed the bloc's resilience.

It was expected to struggle due to a trade war with the US Competition from China and years of conflict in Ukraine.

But the eurozone produced moderate growth each quarter last year.

The bloc's economy grew by 0.3% in the fourth quarter, slightly ahead of analysts projections.

It was also up 1.3% compared with a year earlier.

Spain was still the driver of growth as it jumped a quicker than forecast 0.8%.

Germany saw slight expansion for its best quarterly performance in 3 years.

Elsewhere, industry showed signs of stabilization while unemployment held near record lows and inflation was steady around the European Central Bank's 2% target.

However, exports aren't likely to recover fully anytime soon due to US Tariffs and tough Chinese competition.
