This is the speaking test for the International English Language Testing System conducted on 30 August 2023 at British Council Taipei TW010.

My name is Adam Malster, examiner Number 993769.

And can you tell me your full name please?

My name is Xin Rui Du and you can call me Ray.

Now, in this first part, I'd like to ask you some questions about yourself.

I'm a YouTuber and I've been a YouTuber since 2016, so full time YouTuber for about eight years now.

I really liked making videos back in college, so I kind of just carried that interest over.

And I would say I have the dream job right now because I'm making my living based off of what I like to do.

There are some downsides to this work, but overall I'm very satisfied.

Because I can reach out to my audience in a meaningful way and I make connection with them and sometimes I feel like the content that I make is very positive to them.

The hardest part of my job would be, I think creativity is the toughest part because we need to push out videos in a certain frequency.

So if you are dry and you're out of ideas, it's going to be tough.

Do you think you'll do this work in the future?

So if there's a demand for my video, if there's audience still waiting for my videos, I'm going to keep making videos.

How much time do you spend shopping every week?

Okay, so last time I shopped was for a book.

I bought a book online and that was three days ago.

I attended a book club, so I needed that book.

I needed to finish that book before I attend the gathering, so I bought the book.

I think I. I look at shopping more as a necessity.

My favorite shop as in, like, can a restaurant be your favorite shop?

I'm really into comics, so, yeah, I like the vibe of a comic store.

What problems are there with shopping in the city?

You live the city, I live in the shopping.

I can't really pinpoint a problem because I don't usually go out for shopping.

But if it's the area that I live in, there's not a lot of stores nearby.

So I will have to travel more into the center in the city to get more.

All right, let's move on to talk about reading.

I think reading, it's so for me, as a creator, I need a lot of input because my job is to gather information and create output.

So reading is a form of input for me, and

it's very efficient for me to gather all the information and get need from the book.

So I recently came back from England, so one of the things that I bought was a book about the history of London.

And I spent the entire time on the plane reading about history, the history of England.

Okay, so tell me something about your favorite book.

My favorite book, it's going to sound cliche, but my favorite book is Harry Potter.

That I read in high school, especially the last book, the Deathly Hallows.

I think I've read that book over three times.

It's the finale of this very important series.

So by then, the movie's not even out yet, so I feel like I'm onto something big.

And I just really enjoy how the story unfolded and how the characters come together.

I'd like you to talk about it for one to two minutes.

The song that I would like to talk about is Superman Can Fly by Jay Chow.

In my opinion, Jay Chow is the Greatest mando pop artist of the 21st century.
