Something big is happening in a little over two months and we're getting ready for it.

To-infinitive

They're going to the Chicago to get my clothes.

To get fitted for all our clothes fitted.

I can hardly believe my Sarah is about junior high school.

When it comes to big life transitions, often it seems like kids are ready to move up faster than the adults.

I've done this twice actually, because one time was the real time and then we moved.

And doing it again is horrible because right now everyone, all the vendors go to the middle school.

So I go there and I can just do everything at once.

Get all the uniforms, the shoes, the sportswear, the actual uniform, everything.

If you start school in the middle of the year like we did when we moved, I had to go to each location.

So like one was like a 35 minute train ride away.

Another one was a 5 minute train, 10 minute train ride away.

Another one WAS a 10 minute bike ride away.

So I'm very excited that I can do it the real way again.

The rest of the kids just enjoying a Saturday.

It's the same one where Rebecca and Anna went.

Let's just fill out this everything that we want from it.

Yes, getting fitted is quite the process, but

in the three years that make up junior high in Japan, there needs to be space to grow.

So Sarah, tell me what we've done so far.

You got your sports clothes and your over the sports clothes and the safe coupe, your uniform.

And now we're in a long line for your indoor shoes.

Yeah, we were in little, so we decided we'll go to the store and buy the shoes.

then we all headed out to see if we could get Sarah's shoes and new backpack ordered.

This will be Sarah's first new backpack since starting the first grade.

We are going to finalize our purchases to get Sarah is more of Sarah's stuff.

When going to a new school in Japan, get ready for big upfront costs, even in public schools.

The flip side is that the students use everything they get for three years.

Unless you're talking about the shoes, in which case it's much less than that.

At least with uniforms, the stress of deciding what to wear is completely removed from everyday decisions.

Now Sarah just needs to decide which bag she most wants.

Sarah can choose a black backpack of her liking, but she's looking for a very specific one.

Next up, Sarah got her shoe size tested so her shoes could get ordered.

In fact, after today, every part of her junior high outfit is on order ready for the first day of junior high to start.

Sarah's not the only one going through a big transition this year.

And even as 2026 starts, we're getting ready for what this year may bring.

When I need a moment to slow things down, I find myself drawn to a walk in nature.

Transitions don't have to be scary because they are an opportunity to grow.

I sure love walking through the parks here in Japan.

They are just so serene and beautiful and sometimes hidden and tucked away in some of most undescript places.
