Welcome to the beautiful Filipino island of Cebu.

When it comes to the island of Cebu, it's worth mentioning that its size is pretty impressive.

Spanning a distance of 122 miles, this paradise offers lots of opportunities for exploration and discovery.

To maximize your time, we've planned a seven day itinerary around the island in a big loop to and from Cebu City.

This way you'll get to experience a variety of attractions and make the most of your time in Cebu.

The island has a reliable and cheap bus system that can take you around.

Buses pick you up and drop you off at pretty much any spot along the main road that circles the island.

There are two bus options available, one with air conditioning and one without.

The one with AC is slightly more expensive but totally worth it.

Plus, generally there's less people and a lot more space for luggage.

Your adventure begins in Cebu City, the bustling urban center of the province and the main airport.

if you're like us and prefer the serenity of nature, you may want to move on quickly to the more picturesque locations.

On your first day, we recommend taking a taxi to the south bus terminal where you'll catch a bus to mobilize.

The journey takes about four hours and once you get there, the bus will drop you off at the main road which is about 10 minutes away from the main tourist area.

From there you'll need to negotiate with the tricycle drivers to get to your accommodation.

With a little haggling, you can usually get the fare down to around 170 pesos or just $3.

Keep in mind that there is a one time environmental fee of 20 pesos and you'll need to pay as soon as you enter the town.

We Recommend spending around 4 days 3 nights in mobile to truly soak in the beauty and do all the activities.

On the remaining part of the first day, head over to White Beach, a stunning stretch of coastline that's a perfect place for lounging and enjoying crystal clear waters.

It's just a short 10 minute scooter ride away and stick around to watch a world class Filipino sunset for day two.

Start your morning by swimming with sardines, which are Located right off the main tourist strip, it's absolutely mind blowing to witness thousands of sardines swimming in perfect unison.

Be sure to be up early and avoid the crowds and have this magical experience all to yourself.

Later in the day, drive south to Cebu's highest point, Osmania Peak or Cassina Peak for a breathtaking sunset.

Unfortunately, during our last visit we encountered some navigation issues thanks to our dear friend Google Maps.

So we suggest double checking the directions.

Enjoying the stunning views from these peaks.

Here's the correct route to follow on day three.

Hop on your trusty scooter and make your way north to Montay Upon Falls, the highway highest waterfall in Cebu.

The cascading waters and the mesmerizing blue pools make it a perfect spot for some fantastic photos.

After the falls, head over to the beautiful Boho river and join a tour with a local fisherman.

This mangrove ecosystem is not only stunning, but a shining example of sustainability and conservation efforts.

You'll be amazed by the tranquility and beauty that Boho river offers.

The crystal clear waters, lush mangroves and diverse marine life are amazing.

And the best part was that we had this entire place to ourselves.

The also, don't forget to capture some shots on the stunning bamboo bridge on the way in.

Your last day in Mobile calls for a thrilling canyoneering adventure at Badion Falls.

This popular activity is an absolute must do and one of the most fun things we've ever done.

Spend the day jumping off cliffs, sliding down natural rock slides, swimming in refreshing turquoise pools and meeting new friends.

It's an adrenaline rush you won't forget.

there's an optional 1km zipline which you can take instead of hiking to the beginning point, which we definitely recommend doing.

On day five, take a bus down to Sambawan and check into a hotel for the night.

Spend the day exploring some of the many magnificent waterfalls in the area.

We highly recommend visiting Inambakken Falls and Duo Falls as they are truly breathtaking.

It's important to note that most falls in the area are multi tiered, which means exploring them can take a couple of hours each, so plan accordingly.

Keep working your way around the island and catch a bus to Oslob where you'll stay one night.

Spend the rest of the day enjoying Tumalog Waterfall.

This enchanted falls is surrounded by lush vegetation and is a sight to behold.

Take a refreshing dip and marvel at the natural beauty that surrounds you.

Now, on the morning of your last day, we come to a controversial and highly debated activity in Oslob Swimming with the Whale Sharks It's a very popular activity and we feel any Cebu guide wouldn't be complete without mentioning it.

However, we want to be transparent and share our experience.

Back in 2017, we swam with the Whale Sharks before we became aware of the controversy surrounding the activity.

It felt somewhat commercialized and way overcrowded which did not provide the magical experience we were expecting.

We've since learned about the potential impact impact that this has on the Whale Sharks and their natural behavior.

We've decided to skip this activity on our recent trip and would suggest you do the same.

We believe in preserving the well being of these magnificent creatures and their natural habitats.

And just like that, it's time to wrap up our one week in Cebu.

However, if you have some extra time and wanting to continue exploring the stunning province, we highly recommend extending your trip to visit the Camotes Islands.

The Camotes Islands are a hidden gem with pristine beaches, crystal clear waters and amazing freshwater caves.

Located northeast of Cebu City, it's the perfect destination for those seeking an off the beaten path adventure.
