Just a few months later, investigators found 18 antiquities that he had stolen for over a decade.

Though their relationship was short lived, the love between writer Mary Shelley and poet Percy Bysshe Shelley was apparent.

After Homer and Langley Collier died tragically in their home in 1947, the outside world finally got a glimpse into how they lived.

Amongst their bodies were 120 tons worth of items they'd accumulated, from musical instruments to jars with human remains.

Snellman was believed to have been shot by the homeowner after breaking in.

Roberts kept the body in his home for the next 15 years, covering it with his hoard in a spare bedroom and using dozens of air fresheners to mask the stench.

The stench was so bad that when the cleaners found Shane, they thought it was a dead animal.

It was only after Bruce's own demise that his secret was finally revealed, permanently altering any legacy he left behind.

A Doctor's unknown archaeological find in 2020, a doctor in Kent, England, passed away.

When his house was searched, his relatives came across a grisly find in the attic.

They passed it along to authorities, who ran a CT scan and concluded that it belonged to a woman and was at least 2,000 years old.

It's believed that the head was brought overseas from Egypt during the 19th century as a souvenir, where it remained hidden away for over 100 years.

Though it may not have ended up there as a result of foul play, it goes to show that you never know just what people are hiding in their homes.

Yet Marquis de Sade's most infamous work wasn't revealed to the world until nearly a century after he passed.
