As a child, I was interested both in the natural world, dreaming about the Amazon rainforest, and

also my grandfather was an inventor and he was some kind of a model to me.

So I was watching cassettes about da Vinci and other inventors and scientists of the past.

Giuseppe is the brains behind Novameat, and they're not making your average vegan burgers.

His background in tissue engineering helped him develop a 3D printer that recreates the taste, texture and aroma of real meat.

Microfilaments are ordered in a very specific way so that it recreates the structure and the function of an animal muscle.

And we move that to a big machine and we are able to do that at scale, at hundreds of kilograms per hour afterwards.

I remember when he tried the steak the first time, I was very worried that he was working with top cuts and we were working with just a prototype, right?

But then he gave us very interesting inputs so that we could improve these products.

Very much, In my opinion, is the most straightforward way to save the planet.

And this is my mission from now from until I die.

This unlikely pair might not share all the same values, but

But there I was editing a video where people took us grocery shopping around the world, and

somebody from Finland submitted this, the least favorite one.

So I traveled to Juka Sjervi, a small town outside Kiruna, to film this.

We are first going to go to Sweden to learn from the source all about these blood pancakes, and

then I'm going to make them and try them.

I don't have much experience with blood dishes.

I've had many Types of blood sausages like sundae from Korea, black pudding from the uk, that actually might be it.

But cooking with just liquid blood like this, that was a first.

The idea of the pig's blood with the bacon, I really feel like I'm, you know, getting the whole animal in here.

Ida Maria ate it with her hands and so I will as well.

If you didn't tell me there was blood in this, I would have thought that the texture is off.

There's definitely an earthiness to this, but I think the biggest difference for me is a texture.

I know this might be weird, but it kind of reminds me of a stingray body.

Bacon is salty and it makes everything taste great ultimately.

Like, am I gonna be serving blood pancakes from now on on Sunday mornings?

I know that a lot of cultures do cook with blood.
