We've seen them in Christmas stories and movies, but they might just be real.

They don't wear pointy hats and they've never even met Santa.

They're factory workers carving and chiseling in an eastern corner of Germany.

People who see us, I can understand if they thought we are the elves, we are Santa's workshop.

Ever wonder where our Christmas traditions come from?

Christmas trees, Christmas markets, Advent calendars, wooden toys, all made popular in Germany.

Some of the world's oldest Christmas markets are in Dresden, Munich and Dusseldorf.

Perfect places to enjoy mulled wine and festive cheer.

It's no wonder Germany has become the destination for Christmas and the epicenter for all this seasonal joy.

It's a little village called Sifen, the birthplace of wooden toys and Christmas decorations in the heart of Germany's old or mountains.

The place is so famous for its craftsmanship, it is known as Toy Town.

There are lighted arches, decorated trees and lanterns.

It's at family owned workshops dotted around town where the magic happens.

74 toy makers making 45,000 figurines every year.

Each one containing 84 pieces fitted by hand.

This is the exact opposite of mass production.

And true to tradition, it's a family affair.

My grandfather is Christian Ulbricht and my father is Gunther Ulbricht.

And I'm the fourth generation Stefan Ulbricht.
