Oh, good morning, Good morning friends, and welcome to a day in the life out at sea.

Future continuous

Today I'm going to be showing you everything I get up to on the cruise ship.

It is now day six of our voyage from Vancouver to Hawaii.

We just had our third time change of the voyage.

That's how much we've covered out at sea.

And I'm ready to have coffee, so let's go get some.

And guys, I've made a personal goal on this cruise not to use the elevator once and so far I've made good on that promise.

So we're going up eight floors to get to the top.

I sometimes go and grab a double cup of coffee when I'm at home.

I normally have a really large mug of coffee.

So this just allows me to be a bit more efficient.

The purpose of this video is for me to show you what a day out at sea looks like.

So I'm going to show you everything from the activities to the meals to the downtime to everything else in between.

I'll try to keep it as realistic as possible.

Like I'm going to keep my routine of exercising and my meal times and doing some reading and so on.

But I'm also gonna kind of turbocharge my day a little bit and show you the different entertainment and activities you can get up with.

So it's gonna be a little bit more of an active and social day than I normally would have.

But that's gonna be a fun challenge for me.

But to begin with, some first sips of coffee.

It is windy out here this morning, friends.

But part of my morning routine after the coffee is to get out there and to get my popsicle sticks moving.

I find this is a great way for me to warm up.

All right guys, it's 6:30 now and I'm just heading back to the room.

It started off looking like we're gonna have really nice weather again today, but

There appeared to be some storm clouds rolling in, so it's gonna be an interesting day.

I'm back in the room and my plan is to do a workout program that's actually kind of Hawaii themed.

I don't know if you guys are old enough to know who Gilad Janklewicz is the guy who did bodies and motions that was really popular in the 80s 20s and early 2000s.

But so I'm going to be doing an aircraft carrier workout this morning that involves a lot of punching and kicking, kind of like MMA moves.

This is going to be my main workout before I hop in the shower and have breakfast.

I'm all prepped, quaffed and ready to go.

I really keyed in on a high protein meal.

I had smoked salmon and cream cheese, a side of American bacon, sauteed mushrooms, a fruit platter and an omelette with everything.

So I included feta cheese that included all the vegetables you can think of.

So that was a huge breakfast and I'm already feeling the desire to burn it off.

So I think I'm going to head up to Deck 15 and join the Tai Chi class.

It brought me right back to being in Hong Kong where I remember during my backpacker days I'd be wandering around, I'd find a green space in Hong Kong and I would see people of all ages doing Tai Chi.

It's the type of workout I need to start doing more of.

I tend to focus more on like strength, endurance and balance.

But this is all about smoothness of motion, connecting to your breath and also getting a bit more flexible.

So guys, my next program doesn't start until 10:15.

So I went down just one level and grabbed myself a non sugar iced tea.

I was so impressed by Celia Garland's Birds of the Sea presentation yesterday that I'm going to another one today at 10:15.

So I'm going to learn a little bit more about animals today.

Get a bit of an education while out at sea.

I just came back from Celia's fantastic presentation, Extreme Animal Adaptations.

And I learned some fascinating things today.

Did you know that it lacks the qualifications?

But they're marsupials and because they eat eucalyptus leaves, they end up sleeping 22 hours.

Now, contrast that with the giraffe, who is up for 22 hours.

So they're literally opposites in terms of activity levels.

Now, the other animal I want to talk about that she first mentioned was the bear.

And that's near and dear to me because we have bears in southern Alberta.

So what's fascinating about the bear is when it first wakes up, it's mostly eating plants like dandelions.

As time passes and it starts to eat fish, it becomes picky.

At some point later on in the season, before deciding whether or not to eat that particular salmon, it wants to make sure that it's, of course, a female salmon and it doesn't go for the cuts of meat that we love.

Also, bears do not hibernate in the true sense.

So if you were to go into a bear's den and make noise or whatever, it would wake up.

True hibernation means that you could practically shake the animal and it wouldn't wake.

Perfect example that she gave was there was a whale that one time washed ashore and a whole bunch of bears smelled it and woke up and had a.

Had a feast and then went back into the den.

Yeah, some fascinating things that I learned from her.

She has one more presentation tomorrow that I'm going to attend as well.

It's been a little while since I showed the clock.

So basically what happened after the presentation that went on from 10:15 to 11, I had about a half an hour to spare.

So I came back here, got to talk to Audrey, got to see my Relly doll was making her laugh.
