We are starting off in Hiroshima Prefecture.

If you play the Yakuza video game series, you might recognize the name.

If you like cats, you need to put this on your Japan itinerary.

This morning, we are going to be hiking up a hillside to check out Neko no Hosomichi, Cat Alley.

This is a maze of pathways through the hillside filled with quirky art galleries, cafes, lucky stone cat statues.

There are 108 stone cats hidden in these pathways and there are also real cats here apparently.

It's a little bit of a trek up the stairs to get to it, but I think it's going to be worth it.

They've put out bowls of water for the cats.

They have omikuji for 100 yen and we can't miss the cat omikuji, so put 100 yen in there and then choose one of these.

You know how to tie them off if they're bad, right?

This is like the worst omikuji you've ever gotten.

I'm definitely going to have to tie this one up.

If you can't find cats and you're a cat person, take a deep breath.

If you keep looking, you will find cats and luck.

I didn't know they were going to be cat themed.

I got four for love, three for work, three for health, three for money and three for cat luck.

If you relax and walk the streets like a cat, you will have good.

We had so much fun exploring the little pathways throughout Cat Alley and we even had a chance to meet Sonoyama-san who showed us around.

He's taken several abandoned buildings that line the path and repurposed them into things like cafes and museums.

And some of them he's left untouched because the cats like to chill inside them.

You can tell that he loves the cats so much and he takes really great care of all of them.

We just came across an ice cream shop and I totally forgot about this but the last time I was in Hiroshima was with Mark and we got this orange soft cream and it was just the best ice cream I've ever had because it tasted like a creamsicle and this shop has something similar.

So we're going to have a little ice cream break.

If you've had an orange creamsicle, that's what this tastes like.

You need to come to Canada and have a creamsicle with me.

Japan has soft serve ice cream everywhere but for some reason they never have orange.
