It's so much smaller than I thought it would be.

It's like a reality versus, you know, expectations type thing, but...

They noticed that I was a foreigner, so they started speaking English to me, naked.

Lately, we've been craving more peaceful, relaxing vacations somewhere where we can get some exercise, go for a walk, see something new, and end the day a little bit early.

This area is called Karuizawa and it's known for its delicious jams and puddings and cooler weather during the summer.

A lot of families come here for Golden Week.

Luckily, we missed the rush and it wasn't too crowded wherever we went.

Three hours later and we are in Karuizawa and it's like super...

It's kind of like Meiji period-ish, which is like very Western style.

It's really difficult when everything is just kind of all over the place.

So I'm from Michigan and Karuizawa reminded me of home.

Maybe it was because of the nature or something along the lines of Traverse City or Mackinac Island, but it had a Western vibe that gave off the sense of nostalgia.

So if you press this button, music starts playing.

So whenever we go somewhere, I actively seek out some kind of familiarity to get that nostalgic fix.

He lived in the States for over eight years, so he feels it's like his second home.

This particular cafe was called Cafe La Opera.

I'm not sure if I said that right, but it was full of old antiques, handmade cakes, and premium coffee.

They even had this cute little classical coffee set type thing to enjoy.

It's literally all about the experience and vibes for us wherever we go.

Karuizawa delivered with all of the cafes and the abundance of trees, rivers, and the bird sounds were magical.

Something you don't hear much of in Tokyo.

And yes, there's apple pie everywhere, and it was the best thing I ever tasted.

We like to go off the beaten path a little bit, and I think there's like a lake up ahead, so we're gonna go check that out.

It was super hot earlier, and then all of a sudden, bam, it's like freezing.

These homes are super big and just the nature.

Oh my god, it's such a difference because we were just in the town, and now we're...

There's this pocket of nature and like tons of like little, or not little, big houses.

But it's just funny because like in Japan, like houses like this are like a million dollars, but like in America with a million dollars, you can get like something way bigger.

We've been seeing so many amazing homes like this one.

Whoa, it looks like it's all made out of wood.

I just like wonder if they're like rented houses or like...

I once learned something from nature that released the idea of feeling like I always need to be perfect or needed to live up to everyone's expectations.
