I don't know if you can tell, it's completely empty.

We managed to find a company that could come here and take every last piece of garbage, all the furniture, anything we didn't want, they took it away for us.

We are so relieved that we found somebody that could do it.

We went on the local website for the area and we tried to do the, it's called like large garbage pickup and you have to apply for each item that you want to be picked up.

So for each fridge we had to apply and then what was it?

It was like two months wait or something?

Yeah and then it timed out when we got to like 15 items.

It was like no you can only do 15 at once.

There was like a two month long wait list.

Luckily Ushka had a friend introduce her to this garbage removal company.

Our friend Anton came here and Anton has lots of experience with garbage removal in old houses and I think he thought that it would cost at least $10,000.

So we were a bit scared because that's quite high.

While we were cleaning out the house, lots of the items we found gave us kind of an old English cottage vibe.

Like all the ceramic figures, the little ceramic house we found, some of the lacy fabrics, the old plates etc.

So we've decided to use that as our inspiration for how we're going to decorate the place once it's fully renovated.

Kind of like an old cozy English cottage.

Lots of muted natural colors, floral patterns, lots of wood and plants.

So keep that in mind when we are discussing our plans for the renovations.

So let's go inside and we'll show you guys the house, how it looks all empty.

It's a lot better, it's a lot easier to picture how it will look once it's all finished and renovated, I think.

And we're going to tell you about our plans for each room.

I don't think we really have any special plans for here, do we?

We're going to redo all the wiring in the house so it's a completely new electrical system because when you buy an old house like this it's a little scary to have old wires and stuff and we don't want any risk of fire so that's all going to be gutted and replaced.

But yeah, I think for the most part, maybe just some new tiles, new wallpaper, but the Genkan will pretty much stay how it is.

I almost hit my head on it and I'm quite short.

Any tall guest that we have here would definitely have to duck or they're gonna smack their head on the door so we'll be updating the door a little bit.

Excited to show it to you now that everything's gone.

They removed all the aircon units for us because we'll be getting new ones of those as well.

Yeah, it was like shiny, shiny brand new underneath there.

But we're very excited with how spacious this area is.

We are planning to make this kind of a lounge slash living room.

When we have people come in through the front door, we don't want them to arrive to the kitchen.

We're going to have the TV and the sofa behind us where Ushka is on this side.

And then on this side is going to be just a cozy little lounge area.

There might be a massage chair going there or something.

Just a relaxing spacious area for guests to come in, leave their suitcases and just kind of relax.

Moving on to the beautiful bath and shower area.

The weird sauna unit was removed and we've got all the space now.

So this corner that had the fridge in it, we're not going to have a fridge there anymore.

So we're going to get rid of this corner and make this room a rectangle, a perfect rectangle.

We'll have a sink and shelving unit from Ikea that we're going to put on this wall.

And then over here will be the washing machine.

I think that's pretty much all we're going to do in this room.

We just want it to be a nice area where people can get ready.

This is the biggest bathroom area we've had yet, isn't it?

It's almost more difficult because it's we've got space, we've got options now.

But I don't think we need to crowd it up.

It'll just look nice and just with a few couple of items.

The vanity that we're looking at from Ikea looks quite big on the website.

It'll definitely fit here once we remove that corner.

But I think it'll look quite nice across here.

And then in the bath area, so this hasn't changed much.

There wasn't any garbage to be removed from here really.

We're thinking to get rid of the tub, get rid of this, and just have a rain shower so that it's a nice spacious shower room.

We figure short-term guests probably won't be using the bathtub, especially if they're going to be staying here with a group of friends.

I can't imagine too many people would be sitting in the bath while their friends are here.

So we'll just make it a nice spacious shower room.

And the toilet will stay, I guess, as is like design-wise.

We've got this door closed for a few weeks now.

Yeah, the little toilet room will be staying as is with a new toilet, of course.

All right, moving on into what is now the living room and will be the future kitchen.

So they weren't able to remove that massive shelving unit in the back, but the rest of the room is empty, except for some records that we're keeping.

A massive empty room to do whatever we want with.

So what we're thinking is where this shelving unit is.

We've never done an Ikea kitchen before, but we went on their website and we did their kitchen planner thing that they have, which is a whole nightmare to use.
