I'm here in Hakone and in today's video I'm going to tell you guys 10 things that you can do in Hakone Welcome to Hakone, one of Japan's most iconic spots to visit for their hot springs.

They also boost a stunning view of Mount Fuji Beautiful nature and a long history here with its relative ease of access from Tokyo Makes it an ideal destination for travelers that are coming in from Tokyo and want to hit a highlight spot with Japanese food Souvenirs, hot springs and of course the photos.

But with so much to explore you might be wondering where to start your journey Let's dive into some must-see spots that will make your visit unforgettable Hakone Open Air Museum The Hakone Open Air Museum is a breathtaking fusion of art and nature set against a stunning backdrop of Hakone's mountains This outdoor museum features over 100 sculptures scattered across lush gardens along with dynamic exhibits that change throughout the year Admission fees differ depending on if you purchase them in person or online ahead of time But if you purchase a ticket on the day of for an adult it is 2,000 yen for high school or university student It is 1,600 yen and for kids below that is 800 yen.

The average price for a plate of gyoza is about 1,000 to 1,500 yen Depending on if you want to have it with rice or not There's a variety of options on how you want your gyoza cooked either boiled or fried What makes the Gyoza Center unique is not just its tasty dumplings, but its charming traditional atmosphere Hakone Kowakien Yone-san For a truly unique hot spring experience You'll want to check out the Hakone Kowakien Yone-san, a massive onsen theme park that offers a variety of bath Experiences.

If you're looking for a fun and relaxing day with a variety of onsen experiences Yone-san is a perfect spot to unwind and enjoy the famous hot springs for Hakone in a truly unique way Hakone Ropeway The Hakone Ropeway is an exciting view as you move across the area It's a safe way to explore the region's stunning landscapes.

Starting at Sonzan station The ropeway takes you to Owakudani offering panoramic views of Hakone and on a clear day Mount Fuji in the distance Tickets for the ropeway vary in price depending on the stops and ticket time But it's a very convenient and reliable way to take in the beauty of Hakone from above Siyumo Hakone Siyumo Hakone offers a relaxing stop where you can enjoy a free footbath while you wait for the ropeway to depart The footbath is a fantastic way to soothe your tired feet after a long day of sightseeing and the view from Siyumo Hakone Is simply stunning.

You can also grab a drink or snack at the on-site coffee shop Perfect for recharging before continuing your adventure There's a souvenir store here So if you forgot to bring a towel you can purchase one here as well Which you can keep.

The footbath is particularly popular amongst visitors who want to take a short break whilst enjoying some local hospitality Owakudani Owakudani, a volcanic valley that you can access through the Hakone Ropeway is famous for its sulfuric hot springs and its unique eggs Kuro tamago, literally in Japanese meaning black eggs, are cooked in the naturally heated volcanic water Which turned the shell completely black.

Legend has it that one egg adds seven years to your life It's about 500 yen for four with some salt It's quite affordable for a unique looking egg Which you can enjoy in the area.

The area is also known for striking volcanic landscapes with steam vents and bubbling sulfur springs You'll find plenty of souvenirs including black egg themed items and the views from the top are simply stunning If you're curious about the volcanic activity and want to take in the breathtaking views, this is a must visit Amazake Chaya Located along the old Tokaido Road Amazake Chaya is a historic tea house where you can experience traditional Japanese culture This charming spot is famous for its sweet fermented rice drink called Amazake A no sugar alcoholic free beverage that has been served since the Edo period It's especially refreshing in summer when it's served chilled in winter It is served hot The tea house has been run by the same family for 13 generations and is said that the fire inside keeps insects away While customers enjoy their drinks.

The ambience here is peaceful and nostalgic offering a glimpse into Japan's past It's also famous for its mochi.

Since this place is extremely popular and does get very busy I highly recommend you visit early in the morning.

It's a great spot to go for breakfast Hakone Sekisho Hakone Sekisho or the Hakone checkpoint is a historical site Where travelers once had to stop and be inspected on their journey between Kyoto and Tokyo during the Edo period Nowadays it has become a fascinating museum that offers insight into Japan's past With exhibits explaining the role of the checkpoint and the people who work there Admission is around 500 yen and it's a great place to learn about the region's history and the importance of Hakone as a transportation hub At the top of the site you'll find great views of the surrounding mountains and valleys Making it not only an educational stop but also a scenic one Hakone Koshu is a great place to visit if you're looking for a place to spend the night Hakone Glass Museum The Hakone Glass Museum is a dazzling spot both inside and out The museum showcases intricate glass artwork and features sparkling trees that look particularly beautiful when the light hits them If you're a fan of art or just want to capture some Instagram worthy photos This museum offers stunning visuals that showcase the delicate art of glass making.
