Hey guys, it's Kimmy and welcome back to my channel.

In today's video, I'm going to tell you guys 10 things that you can do in Fukuoka.

Fukuoka, located on a southern island in Japan, is such a nice place to explore if you are visiting Japan.

You can explore a whole different range of Japanese culture without the huge crowds.

I'm going to give you a list of the things that I did in Fukuoka.

We are at Kasanoya and we got some umegae mochi.

This is mochi with red bean paste inside.

It's so soft and I love how the mochi is chewy.

The red bean inside it, it's really warm and fresh.

It's sweet but it's not too sweet because the mochi kind of softens it a little bit.

We are at Tenzan and we got some amao daifuku.

Now, amao in Japanese means aka, red, maru, round and dai, which is big.

We are now at the Zaifu Temmangu and this is a place you go to, to wish for good luck in health, study and business.

So, a lot of university students come here to wish for good luck in their studies.

The Zaifu Temmangu was built in the 10th century and is surrounded in a serene setting with beautiful gardens, ponds and walking paths.

It is said that if you pat its head, it grants you wisdom.

The shrine is dedicated to Sugawara no Michizane, the god of learning.

It's the leading shrine to about 10,000 Tenmangu shrines in Japan and it's one of the largest in Kyushu.

You can buy amulets for good luck for various things such as studying, love, safety when driving, health and more.

You can also purchase an enma, a wooden plaque where you can write your wish and place at the shrine.

We are now at the Kawabata shopping district and this street is 400 metres long with over 130 shops.

We're going to walk down and see what's there.

This is Fukuoka's oldest shopping arcade with routes dating back to the Edo period.

It is a must-visit destination for tourists who want to experience local culture, shop for unique items and sample delicious food.

There is a wide variety of various types of food,  including souvenir stores.

We've stopped by a store that sells lanterns and also lets you decorate your own.

Lanterns are part of Fukuoka's cultural and festive traditions.

So I'm going to be designing my own lantern and I'm going to be doing a sakura design.

I'm not much of an artist but I tried my best.

It was a fun experience and it was a great memory for me to take home.

So I just put some sakura flowers for Fukuoka down there because we're in Fukuoka and Japan at the back.

It all fit inside the compact box which made it easier to carry around.

As we walked down, I saw a store doing omikuji for free.

This is very rare because usually you do have to pay for this at shrines or temples.

If you get a bad luck one, you can tie it up and it gets rid of the bad luck.

But if you get a good one, you can keep it with you.

Walking down, I saw a store selling dog outfits.

For lunch, we had tempura which is deep fried vegetables, meat or seafood with a crunchy batter outside.

We are now at Ohori Park and this place is really big and beautiful.

You can enjoy a really nice time compared to Tokyo.

So you can actually walk across the bridges and walk around the island.

And look at this gazebo, it's just absolutely beautiful.

Near the center of Fukuoka City, Ohori Park is a lovely quiet spot that is quite unique.

There is a large pond in the center where you can walk over the stone bridges  to the small islands.

This pond used to be part of the moat of Fukuoka Castle, hence the name of the park since Ohori is moat in Japanese.

It is a great place to relax at the available cafes, enjoy a boat ride or just enjoying a nice walk.

We are now at Fukuoka Tower and this is the third tallest tower in Japan.

When you go up, you have beautiful views and depending on the season, the tower lights up in different colors.

Fukuoka Tower stands at 234 meters and offers panoramic views of the city, Hakata Bay and the surrounding mountains.

The observation deck is 123 meters above ground.

The tower includes interactive exhibits and photo spots.

You can buy a heart lock for 1000 yen at the vending machine and place it at the rail at the heart photo spots.

You can press the buttons on the side of the heart for perfect lighting so you can take photos even at night time.

The view at night is absolutely stunning and definitely worth seeing.

The tower also lights up with colors and designs depending on the season.

Yes, there is a team lab in Fukuoka too and it is much less busy compared to Tokyo.

Located near the Fukuoka Tower, it is convenient to get to.

Tickets are 2400 yen for adults and 1000 yen for children.

You can buy tickets at the door but I recommend you buy them in advance in case they sell out.

The difference with this team lab is that it is more interactive.

If you download the app, in the first room you are able to capture and release animals on the walls.

There are small obstacle courses which are always fun and of course you have the rooms that are great for photos.

Also please note that if you are wearing high heels you will not be able to enter this museum.

They do offer shoe rental for those who are.

You have a room where you are able to draw creatures that will be projected onto the walls in the room.

You also have unique room entrances such as this mirrored tunnel.

Yatai are small mobile food stores that are an iconic part of Fukuoka's culinary culture.

These open air stores typically operate in the evening and serve a variety of local dishes making them a must visit for anyone looking to experience authentic Japanese street food in a lively communal atmosphere.

These stores are typically small, seating only about 6-10 people at a time which creates an environment that allows you to connect with locals and fellow travellers.

These stores are scattered around Fukuoka at popular locations such as Tenjin, Nakasu and Nagahama.

We went to Mentai Chudoku in Nagahama, a store that specialises in mentaiko which is a spicy cod roe which is famous in Fukuoka.

The local food here is just so delicious with lots of different varieties all cooked freshly in front of you.

Honestly this is such a great experience that I really recommend you all try out if you're in Fukuoka.

It's a good way to try new dishes without spending too much.

We're now at Hakata Station and today we're going to be doing a tour with Yoka Bus.

Now you can actually explore Fukuoka Prefecture really easily with these tours.
