and today  we're gonna look through some moments in my life.

I was the youngest there by probably like 10 years,

or at least 10 years, maybe probably more.

I remember being super nervous and my Mickey Mouse voice.

You can see in my eyes, I'm just super focused.

I think that's just how I've always been.

The reason that I've been able to do what I do is because of those experiences,

and I think there's the same for all of us, right?

As a sculptor that's molded us into the people we are today.

I think there was a lot of, at school and even at races,

just parents telling, there's no way you're gonna be a racing driver.

Teachers telling me that you're never gonna be good at anything.

When I look back now, I think, wow, those teachers must have been

going through a lot to have projected that onto a young kid.

I have just arrived in Formula One as a McLaren driver, literally living our dream.

I think this must be six races in, something like that.

And I was up against a two-time world champion.

Long story short, basically they would divide the cars.

One car would have slightly heavier fuel.

They were putting all their money on the champion

that was racing for the team to take them to the championship.

But I was quick and I was fierce and I was hungry.

And I remember looking down and seeing my dad's smile.

And that was the day that I knew that we had made it.

and justified all the sacrifice that he had put in.

I hadn't had a lot of embraces from my dad.

He was a very tough father and he found it generally quite difficult,

And at the time, probably, it was like any vulnerability is weakness, you know?

Yeah, damn, I needed a hug from my dad so bad.

It's the biggest honor you can really receive.

They wanted to know if I would accept it.

When you have something as incredible as a sir in front of your name,

it just, things are different when you walk in a room.

When I had signed in 1997 and I went to McLaren,

Prince Charles came to open up the factory.

And that day, I remember having my go-kart and

I was sitting there and Prince Charles knelt down next to me and spoke to me.

One day, I want to be a Formula One World Champion.

When I stood up, he's like, it's been a long time since I've seen you.

And I'm like, yes, it's, you know, honored to see you, your highness.

And thank you so much for having me and my family.

This gesture, you know, just telling him how grateful I am for this moment.

You kind of keep it short because he's got like other people to get through.

I decided I'd been going to fashion events,

a world that I love and felt very included in.

I was like, I want to create my own kind of runway.

Basically, when I arrive at track, I want to arrive in meaning business.

This is me and my dog, Roscoe, my bulldog pal.

Like he's like a puppy again at nine years old.

This is us arriving on a Thursday in South of France to start a race in Castellet.

which I generally hated when I was a kid.

But I remember idolizing a lot of musicians

and their style and wanting to have that style and swag one day, right?

And I remember going to my first fashion show away from a race.

I was the only real person of color there.

People used to look at me in my realm like, what is he wearing?

And people sometimes don't like what's different.

But when you go to the fashion world, it's super eclectic.
