The way to unlock the secret to life is understanding two simple things.

Present continuous

The first thing is understanding that all forms of human suffering comes from having conversations with your thoughts.

To-infinitive

So let's say you're in a romantic partnership with someone, and then they start to act a little bit less interested in you,

maybe intimately in the bedroom, or maybe they just start acting a little bit more cold to you, or maybe even you see them receive a text or something like that,

and the text looked weird, and then they started acting weird after they received the text.

Some thoughts that might enter your mind could be, "Oh, is my partner not as attracted to me?" or "Oh, is my partner talking to someone else?" or "Is my partner with someone else?"

And the thing that makes it really scary is for most people, it doesn't end just at that thought.

A conversation will then usually happen, and keep in mind, this is all unconscious, and the conversation could potentially look like something like this.

Well, is my partner not as interested in me because, oh, maybe it's because I've gained a little bit of weight,

or maybe it's because, you know, I'm not dressing as nice lately, but I told my partner that I have this injury, and I can't really go to the gym as much, so, you know, they should understand that I'm not going to look as good right now.

And it's almost insane because this is not real.

The thought is not a real thing, and then you have a conversation about something that you don't even know is real.

But everyone does this, and a lot of people will just sit in this conversation for hours, or weeks, or months, or even years, and it's just pure pain and torture over nothing.

And let me be clear, I'm not saying it's wrong to have the thought, but the mistake that people make is they get lost in the thought.

And the the thoughts that enter your mind, so you don't get lost in the thought.

Another way of looking at this is you can also view thoughts a little bit like emotions.

So, for example, you could experience the emotion of anger, but just because anger enters your body does not mean you have to get lost in the anger.

And a really good example of this could be, if you are in a room right now, and you're watching this video from your phone, or your computer, or whatever, objectify the thought or the emotion just like your phone or your computer.

So, instead of getting lost in it, all you have to do is simply explore it.

You could say something like, "Hey, so I've noticed lately you haven't really been as warm towards me. Is this something that you felt?

Because when I'm observing this, it makes me feel like this.

It makes me feel like you're not attracted to me.

Is this something that you're experiencing?"

But the number one mistake that you could ever make is to view your thought as a conclusion without exploring the thought.

So, for example, in a relationship, you could draw the conclusion that my partner does not see me as attractive as before, but maybe my partner is just stressed about something.

Maybe the reason why they're a little bit distant has nothing to do with you.

But if you view that thought as a and you don't explore this with your partner, the reason why it's so bad is because you're not even living in reality.

You're living in your own weird fantasy world that isn't even real.

And you'll make big decisions based on that conclusion, but the decisions are not based in reality.
