Hi everybody, it's Jennifer from Tarle Speech.

Basic passive voice

Homophones are two words that are pronounced exactly the same way, they just have different spellings and different meanings.

Knit, which means to make fabric by looping yarn together with needles, or knit, the egg or young form of a louse, which is a tiny insect.

When we say this K and N at the beginning of words, we drop the K.

This is like an old spelling, we just kind of keep that spelling, but the pronunciation is just an N We have a silent letter.

Tip of the tongue is touching where the teeth and the skin meet on the roof of the mouth.

Then you're going to relax your lips and your cheeks and you are going to have kind of a smirk on your face, like a slight smile.

When your lips are in that position, the tip of the tongue is just behind the top teeth.

It is not touching the teeth, it's just kind of behind there.

And then we are going to end with that T.

You're going to touch the same spot that you did for the N, where the teeth and the skin meet on the roof of the mouth, and the air is going to puff out when you pull your tongue down.

Now, you may be asking yourself, sometimes I don't hear the T.

Actually, we mark the T, we just unrelease it.

What that means is I'm just going to hold my tongue to the spot for the T and not pull it down and not release the air.

And it'll sound like this, knit, knit, knit.

So you can say knit with the released T or knit with an unreleased T.

One more time, knit, knit, knit, or knit, knit, knit.

While she sat by the fire to knit a scarf, she helped her daughter check her hair for a knit.
