Wealth inequality has been growing faster than ever.

The top 1% of Americans own almost a third of the entire country's wealth.

The top 10% of Americans own almost 70% of the entire country's wealth.

While the bottom 50% own absolutely nothing.

The fact that we have somebody who is about to become the first trillionaire in history is a clear sign that wealth inequality has been getting out of hand.

I've never seen anybody who fights wealth inequality more than Bernie Sanders.

And recently, he gave a 2-hour interview to Joe Rogan explaining why wealth inequality has been rising recently.

I have nothing but huge respect and admiration for Bernie Sanders, because he's been saying the exact same thing for decades and stood his ground regardless of what happened.

But it also made me realize that even people who are at the top, who are occupying high-ranking positions, don't have a clue of what exactly is happening and why 60% of Americans are living paycheck to paycheck.

This video isn't to criticize Bernie Sanders or politicize this video, but rather explain to you how the system works.

Because the current system is by far the greatest system that humanity has ever created to build wealth.

Now, it doesn't mean that there aren't problems in other areas, and Bernie might be right in a lot of other things.

However, if you understand how the system works, you can take full advantage out of it just like all other rich people do and build wealth just like them.

So, please take this video with a grain of salt and let's not politicize this video.

My job or my goal with this video is try to help you as much as I can.

So, if you're ready, let's get right into it.

Has wealth inequality been rising recently?

If you go back to 1970s, yes, there has been rich and poor people all the time.

However, ever since 1970s or since we abandoned the gold standard, wealth inequality has been rising tremendously.

Today, the top 1% have the kind of wealth that humanity in its entire history did not have.

As if we have literal kings and queens who are controlling the entire world while the average American or even the average person in any other country is simply a peasant who is making the minimum wage just to be able to afford the basic bills instead of having a good decent life.

And it doesn't matter which statistics you look at, it's the same thing all the time.

The bottom 50% of Americans have always never actually owned any kind of wealth.

In fact, back in 1990s, the average American or the bottom 50% had more wealth than they have today, even though that there has been a lot of technological advancement in the last 50 to 60 years.

The world today is far better than it has been 50 years ago.

And yet back in 1990s, the bottom 50% of Americans had more wealth.

Well, if you look at the top 1% of Americans or the top 10% or even the top 50%, everything else is shared among them.

If you look at taxes, the same story repeats over here.

Taxes for the top 1% of Americans or the richest Americans have gone down since 1960s and 70s, while taxes for the bottom 50% have increased slightly.

Does that mean that the government has been trying to tax the average American instead of going behind the people who actually have money?

I mean, if you think about it, logically, it doesn't make sense.

Why would you go behind the average American or the bottom 50% of Americans who don't make that much money?

However, if you look at the income of the government, you instantly realize that most of the income or most of the taxes come from the average American.

The corporations don't pay much taxes, the top 1% don't pay any kind of taxes, and since Ronald Reagan became the president, he reduced the taxes so much that probably nobody has reduced taxes in the entire history of America as much as Ronald Reagan did.

And it also doesn't matter who was the president of the United States, whether it was a democrat or a republican, the top 1% their wealth has been growing while the wealth of the bottom 50% has gone down.

Even when Obama was a president who was a democrat, you would think that democrats want a much bigger government that helps the average American by providing more government services.

However, if you look at the statistics and the numbers, it's very clear that it doesn't matter who is the president.

The system works in the exact same direction, that the gap between the rich and the poor keeps growing no matter who is in power.

And it's also very interesting that productivity of the average American has been growing since then, while the median income has stagnated since 1970s and 80s.

And that means that the average American today produces far more than it has ever produced in entire history, his productivity is growing tremendously, but he is not getting paid for the exact same outcome that he did for example 50 years ago.

And it's nowhere as clear as in the housing market.

Back in 1970s, the average household was about 23 thousand dollars, while the median income used to cost around a little less than 9 thousand dollars.

Which means that the average person could actually save 2.6 times of his income and go and buy a house, which actually made sense, which was great.

However, if you take the exact same statistics, and you look at the median house price today in 2025, it's around 420 thousand dollars.

While the median income has also grown since then, from at least around 9 thousand dollars to as much as 80 thousand dollars, today it takes you 6 median incomes to buy the exact same house.

Which means that the average American today is far unlikely to buy a house than ever in entire history of America.

Which means that today Americans have to save a much bigger chunk of their income and save for much longer to be able to buy a house.

Isn't that a clear sign that the average American is producing far more and yet he can't even buy or pay for the basic expenses?

We're not talking about the average American being able to buy a yacht or a helicopter, but rather simply get affordable house for him to have a roof over his head.

In fact, recent statistics also show the fact that 60% of Americans are living paycheck to paycheck.

And if you look at all of these statistics, it's very clear that inequality has actually been rising and it's a real problem.

However, it's not about the income inequality, it's not about the top 10%, but it's rather about the bottom 90% of Americans haven't yet realized how the entire system works.

While the top 10% of Americans realized the system, how the system works and started taking advantage out of it.

And that's because back in 1970s, there has been a huge shift in the mindset and the structure of the economy that the average American even today does not realize what changes has happened back then that changed the entire course of the economy since then.

To understand that, you have to understand a clear difference between income and wealth.

Income is what you are getting paid, how much money you make, how much cash gets into your pocket every month or every year.

And since the United States abandoned the gold standard, the entire mentality of the economy has changed.

Corporations, businesses, the entire economy began to focus on acquiring wealth.

And acquiring wealth is very different than acquiring income because you're not getting taxed at your wealth, but you're getting taxed at your income.

And that change in the mentality led to this huge growth in the income inequality.

And yet, even in 2025, the vast majority of people have no clue what is the difference and how that change happened and how it impacts them.

When you're focused on building wealth, you are being focused on reinvesting back into the business to grow it and make it bigger because that's how you build wealth.

Imagine you are making a certain amount of money and you go and buy a house.

And now you're receiving rental income from that property that you have purchased.

You can take that property and buy something for you.

You can treat yourself at a very nice restaurant.

You can treat yourself for a very great vacation.

You can buy an expensive ring for your wife or fiance.

However, you cannot possibly build wealth like that.

A smart person or a person who's trying to build wealth, he would take that rental income and he would buy another property.

When he has two properties, he will start taking the rental income from both of these properties to buy a third property.

And over time, he keeps buying more and more properties.

Yes, this guy now owns maybe a thousand properties, maybe 10,000 properties, and he has built so much wealth.

That's not because he's consuming so much, but rather he is producing.

And that shift in mentality has led the top 10% of Americans own almost all the wealth in the country, while the bottom 90% don't own anything.

Because the top 10% are being focused on building wealth and building something and building value and reinvesting all the profits.

And when you're reinvesting your profits back into the business, you're not getting taxed.

So when you have a multi-trillion dollar corporation, such as Amazon or Apple or Microsoft, when they're reinvesting back into building a new AI project or opening a new AI data center or building a new financial infrastructure, they're not getting taxed on that because they're building something.

When you get your paycheck at the end of the month, you're getting taxed because you received real cash into your pocket.

Moreover, companies began paying their employees in stock compensations instead of income.

So when you have a huge, large multi-trillion dollar corporation, they don't pay their executives with cash just like they pay you.

They realize that if we want our executives, if we want our managers to be interested in the growth and the prosperity of this business, then they must have a stake in this business.

If you are, for example, a co-owner of a grocery store in the corner of the street, then you're interested for that grocery store to keep growing, to keep making more money.

Which is why all of these corporations suddenly started paying their employees or their top executives in stock compensations.

So when you see that there is a huge income inequality, and that's because all these employees are getting paid in cash, while the CEO is getting paid in stock compensation.

Now the best example I can think of is Elon Musk.

He's like, I'm the CEO of Tesla, and if I achieve these key performance indicators or KPIs, then I want to have more ownership in the business.

So he does everything possible to make sure that Tesla achieves certain indicators, and then he gets paid in more ownership or a stock compensation package, and then everybody freaks out that Elon Musk just got paid 50 billion dollars.
