Past simple

So I am in Old Town Corfu, Greece, and I am staying in this apartment called Skyloft.

It's right in the middle of Old Town, so it was a little bit hard to find when I got here late at night.

My plane landed at 10.30 or around 10, so I didn't get to Old Town Corfu until 11pm at night, and so it was so hard to see everything at night.

And this apartment is really in the middle of Old Town, like in a little neighborhood, so I had to message the owner on booking.com.

You get a number, so I contacted him through WhatsApp, and then he came within 10 minutes and escorted me to the apartment.

And I'm so glad he did, because there's no way I would have found this place on my own.

Even though you get directions to come here or, you know, a Google Map pinpoint location, it still didn't give me the right location, so I'm so glad I contacted him.

And then he also showed me, like, how to get up here.

You get a key fob, a key, and it's four flights of stairs, so make sure you prepare for stairs if you have luggage.

Luckily, he helped me with my luggage, so that was nice, too.

So I stayed here for two nights, and I really enjoyed my stay here.

There was a couple things, or maybe just, like, one major thing that, you know, I wish could be better, but it is an old building.

So I get, you know, that there's going to be some issues.

The best thing about this apartment is the view, which I'll show you in a second.

So let me just go ahead and give you a tour of this lovely apartment.

So as I mentioned, the best part about this place is the view.

So you have, like, this awesome window above your bed, and you can control everything with these controllers here.

So when you go to sleep, you could put this down so, you know, you don't get woken up by the light in the morning.

So yes, if you press this up button, the cover goes up, and it just gets brighter and brighter and brighter.

And then if you want to open the window, it's this right here.

And yeah, that's what I wanted, was this view.

Although, you know, in the mornings, you will hear that church bell.

Yesterday, I just went off like crazy because it was a holiday, a special holiday.

So yeah, so that is the best part about this place.

And that side, too, had an outlet as well.

They did provide a couple of towels and hand towels, extra pillows, and they did provide slippers, too, which I used.

I'm sure it's going to get up to 95 again.

Now, going downstairs, since this is a loft, these stairs could be a little bit scary.

I'm going to have to go sideways a little bit.

So the card you insert in here to turn on all the electricity.

It's a little toaster oven and a stove, a little portable stove.

Because sometimes the water goes out here.

That's one thing that I had a complaint about, but we'll get to that later.

So the sitting area, I just use this to place my luggage basically.

And then you get a luggage rack and another area over there to place your things.

And then over here is a digital safe, closet area.

And then over here is the hairdryer and iron, and there's an ironing board there as well.

It's one of those mirrors where you touch the mirror for the light.

It was shampoo and conditioner combined and body soap and hand soap there.

And as I mentioned, you get a couple towels.

Took a lot of showers here because I sweat a lot.

So there's the rain shower head and then the handheld shower.

And then you can also use that faucet right there too.

Yeah, so overall it was a pretty good place.

So like I said, overall I really did like staying here.

The only thing that was kind of a major issue for me, since I got here so late at night, after I settled in here, I went out to eat.

So luckily there's a lot of restaurants around here, so places are open until late at night.

So I didn't get out to eat until midnight, and I didn't get back home until 1.30.

And so when I decided to take a shower, the water was super cold.

And the water pressure was just not there.
