For nearly 300 years this was a busy, vibrant social space filled with soldiers.

Now this project is going to throw open the gates of the barracks to its community to create once again a living space, a living barracks.

It's really important that we conserve these sites for future generations and this project covers that in both ways.

It makes sure that we are conserving it for the future, but also that people can really enjoy their day out here.

It needs a good lick of paint, but you look inside and there's things like the drains and the electricity and basic stuff that most of our houses have to have, we want to have here for our visitors.
